This can’t be happening.
“What you did yesterday to show the...web…can you do it again?” Ash asks me.
“I don’t know. I can try.”
“Please.”
I take a deep breath and try to calm my nerves. If I do the same spell as yesterday I risk turning the twins’ skin a different color again. They might not appreciate that. I sigh and try to think of the wording for the spell.
I close my eyes and get the briefest flash of a forest before the wording just comes to me and I repeat them, muttered under my breath. I open my eyes, and a gasp leaves me.
There, burning brightly across the top of the table, is an intricate fiery map connecting the five of us together.
“Wow,” I breathe.
“Well, Jas?”
“Did it work, love?”
“Sweetheart?”
“Darlin’?”
The weight of their expectant stares is crushing me. There’s nothing for it. Shaking my head, I get to my feet and back slowly away from the table of crazy guys staring at me like I’m the freaking sun. I can’t be everyone’s! They can’t...share me.
I do the only sensible thing in this overwhelming situation: I turn heel and run.
