CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN

LIVY

Livy wandered through the group attending cocktail hour, pleased to see everyone enjoying the food Holly and Brooke were passing around. She and Dylan were going to visit Grace’s restaurant to see how her baking could fit in. The visit might help her answer some questions about her future. The truth was, she didn’t know what she wanted to do next. Owning a bakery had been a tremendous burden. Satisfying in many ways, but too confining. That’s one reason she was determined to keep having as much fun as possible.

She approached Austin’s stepmother. “Hello. I’m Olivia Winters, one of the cousins helping our grandparents out with the Inn. Welcome.”

“I’m Savannah Ensley. Nice to meet you. I love the idea of the three of you young women stepping in to help your grandparents. I understand they’re on an exciting summer trip abroad.”

“Yes, a honeymoon of sorts,” said Livy, smiling at the thought.

“I also understand you’re a cook and baker,” said Savannah. “Have you thought of doing cooking lessons here? Emma is interested in that kind of thing.”

“We haven’t thought of it, but I like that idea,” said Livy. “Thanks.”

“Austin has mentioned you,” said Savannah. “He says you make delicious cookies.”

Livy pasted a smile on her face. “He likes my cookies, for sure.” The thought that he couldn’t see she was more than the cookies she baked hurt.

Eric headed her way.

Livy said goodbye to Savannah and met him halfway.
