CHAPTER NINE

LIVY

Livy stood with Grace Hendrix discussing Grace’s restaurant in Tampa. It felt comfortable to talk to someone who understood how much Livy had loved her career before her relationship with her business partner started to deteriorate. Grace had a partner in both business and in life. Together the two women had built a successful, intimate, upscale restaurant specializing in seafood.

“I can’t wait for you to meet, Belinda.” Grace’s brown eyes sparkled. “She stayed behind to take care of the restaurant. But if you’re going to be here for the summer, you’ll be able to see her. Maybe there’s some way we can use your services at the restaurant. ‘Gills’ could use some excellent baked items.”

“We’ll see. I’m taking a rest for several weeks at least. But thanks.” Livy gave her a hug. “I’m glad I’ve had this chance to catch up with you and that the grandmothers have pulled us all together.”

Grace laughed. “They can be a dangerous group. But I love them. Through the years, they’ve been there for all of us.”

“Yes,” said Livy. “The cove is a place where I’ve always felt welcome.”

“To be honest, I’ve raised a few eyebrows, but they’ve accepted my choices, and that means the world to me,” said Grace.

“I’m glad,” Livy said. She glanced at Brooke talking with Austin. She thought about going over to say hi to them and decided to move on. Grace’s brother Dylan looked a bit lonely standing by the cooler of drinks.
