Saint brings us drinks and we sit around talking while Savvy holds her grandson. This is a side of her I haven’t seen before, and I like it.
I can tell how much her son loves her and vice versa. He is a big ass momma’s boy sitting over there laid up on his momma, just like his son is. Eventually Savvy tells him we have to go.
“I put y’all bags in the back of Coop, here’s your keys.”
“Thank you, baby,” she says.
She hugs Mell and little Saint or Bubba as she calls him. We walk outside and I stop short.
“What the hell is this Savvy?” I say
“My car, Jag.”
“Savannah I cannot fit in that car.”
“Yes, you can.”
“I can put that car in my pocket Savvy.”
“You’re going to stop talking about my car Joshua.”
“Saint can you take me someplace really quick?”
“Where are you going, Joshua?”
“To get a car I can fit in Savannah”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes, do you mind waiting here while I Saint and I go?”
“Wow!”
“Please Bibi?”
“Fine, come on Mell lets go get something to eat while I wait.”
They walk back in the house and Saint, and I get back in his SUV. I tell him what I want, and he heads that way. As soon as the destination is decided, and we are on the move Saint asks what I knew was coming.
“So, you call yourself dating my mom?”
“No, I don’t call myself doing anything. I am dating your mom.”
“Oh, is that how this conversation is going to go?”
“I’m just going off your energy but I’m here for whatever energy you wanna roll with.”
“When it comes to my mom my actions match my energy.” He says while looking my dead in my eyes.“My mom has been single for a long time.”
“Your point?” I say.
“I don’t want to see her hurt and I hope you are not trying to take advantage of her.”
“You really underestimate your mom; she is far from a fool and she damn sure isn't going to let anyone take advantage of her.”
“Well, understand this; if you hurt her your big ass will come up missing and I don’t care what branch of the military you retired from, because I fuck with these streets and I ain’t retired from them yet. Your ass will come up missing. Respectfully disrespectfully.”
