“Did you do any remodeling to the house when you bought it?”

“A little,” he says as he gets out of the car.

“We opened the kitchen and finished the basement, then took one of the smaller bedrooms to make a walk-in closet. We tried to keep as many original features as possible.”

I nod my head as I help Savvy. As soon as she’s out of the car the front door opens a little boy around 5 or 6 comes barreling towards her.

“Bibi!” he screams as he wraps his little arms around Savannah’s waist.

“How is Bibi’s baby?” She says.

“I missed you Bibi, how long are you staying?”

“Only for a couple days,” she tells him.

His little face turns into a pout. Then he notices me.

“Who’s this Bibi?”

“This is my friend, Mr. Joshua.”

“Hello, Mr. Joshua,” he says as he extends his little hand for me to shake it.

“Hello?”

“Saint, Savvy tells me he’s named after his dad”.

Hello, Saint, I say and shake his hand. He is a cute little boy with a head full of curly hair and light brown complexion. Her son has the bags out of the car, and he is walking towards the garage, I’m assuming to get Savvy’s car. As he does that a woman walks out of the house who I am assuming is Saint’s wife, Damell.

“Hey, mom.”

“Hi sweetie how are you and my granddaughter?”

“I don’t know about her but I’m ready.”

“I bet you are, you don’t have much time left.”

“A couple more weeks.”

Savvy made introductions and we go into the house. It’s a beautiful house with a lot of original features like original stained glass, pocket doors, and gum wood trim. But there are many modern touches throughout. I wonder who designed this. Asher would have a field day with this house.

“Are you going to come back for dinner before you leave?” Mell asks as Saint walks in.

“No, but we can go out to eat before I leave. I do not want your 37-week pregnant self, standing all day trying to cook for us.”

“Ok.”

“But I will come back to hang with my Bubba before I go. Well can I make sandwiches and a salad or something that day?”

“Yes, Mell just don’t overdo it.”

“I won't,” she replies.

“I don’t think she’s trying to stay in there for another three weeks.”

“Uh oh do you have your bags ready?”

“Yep.”
