He backs up a bit, pulls gently on my hand and says, “Come.”

I’m struggling again to not ‘cum’. I really need to get myself under control. I begin walking and find my legs not as sturdy as they should be. I internally admonish Thunder and Lightning, aka my thighs to get themselves together. As we walk closer to the restaurant, I am even more amazed by the uniqueness of the restaurant.

“This is amazing Joshua, I’ve never seen anything like this before, how did you find them? They are pretty far off the beaten path.”

“Well, being part owner made it kind of easy,” he jokes.

I stop and turn to look up at him, mouth agape.

“Are you serious?”

“Yes, my brothers and I ran across a similar restaurant set up in New Zealand and we wanted to try it one day. Once we started our company this was one of the first projects we tried. We were all impressed with how well it turned out. The architecture and logistics alone made this one of our favorite builds.”

We reach the bottom of pod eight and I wonder how we are supposed to reach the pod from the ground. Joshua walks to the front and opens a robin hood-like lift that works with pulleys, as we enter, he pulls a cord and it smoothly lifts us to the walkway that leads into the pod. I am so fascinated I forget how high in the air I am, when I finally look down, I involuntarily move closer to him and he puts his arm around me.

“Don’t like heights?” He peers at me with concerned eyes.

“Not really.”

“We can leave if you’re not comfortable.”

“Absolutely not. I couldn’t imagine not taking advantage of this once in a lifetime experience.”

We walk to the door and a hostess opens our door. When I walk in, I am once again taken aback by the pure elegance of the mini restaurant.

It is equipped with a bar, seating area, hostess station, kitchen, restrooms, dining area and even an outdoor seating area. Each pod has at least seven workers at all times including the hostess, a waiter for each diner, bartender, and chef staff.

“The glass is one way glass,” Joshua explains. “You can see out, but they can’t see in.”

We are seated in the seating area that consists of a half-moon shaped white sofa with a see-through fireplace directly in front of the sofa. The waiters took our drink and appetizer order, and as we sat waiting, Joshua looked at me.

“You really do look enthralling tonight.”

“Thank you. You look like GQ man of the month.”

He opens his mouth and laughs, a full belly laugh, and I find myself laughing with him.

“Hmm, I didn’t think you laughed a lot.”

“I don’t, but I guess you bring another side out of me.”

I turn my head and am grateful that he can't see me blushing.

“How long have you been single, Savvy?”

“Excuse me?”

“You are definitely single, ‘cause no man in his right mind would just date you. And you don’t seem like the type of woman who dates more than one man at a time. Besides every time I compliment you, you get uncomfortable and blush.”

“You can’t tell I’m blushing,” I say indignantly.

He smiles because he knows I just told on myself.

“Please, Savvy. I don’t want you to feel self-conscious when talking to me. You can tell me anything and know that not only will it not go any further, but I will also never judge you or throw anything you tell me back in your face.”

I decide to take a chance. After all I still have no plans to sleep with him and after he figures that out, I probably won’t see him again outside of what is needed for my house.

“Eight years.”
