“Like what you see?” He asked when he stepped from the shower.

“Very much,” I said.

He came to me, wrapped me in his arms and whispered in my ear, “You’re mine, Ella.”

“Yes, sir.” I said.

He smiled at me. “I want you to know, you’re more than welcome to stay here with me. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to.”

“After what we did in the coat closet at Le Mercure, I don’t have a lot of other options,” I said.

“Oh, Ella, the world is at your feet,” Kase said. I looked at him, not sure what he meant. “I wanted to be sure before I said anything so I called my father earlier this morning. It seems both our fathers were very good at squirreling away money. Mine helped yours set up a trust for you in case of his death, one that Agnes Tremaine couldn’t touch.”

I grabbed the door jam to keep myself steady as I tried to hear the words coming from Kase’s lips instead of my own heartbeat.

“The paperwork is being couriered over as we speak, Ella, so you will be one of the wealthiest women on the Upper East Side in ver short order.”

I slid down the wall to the floor. Was he serious?

“As I said before, you’re more than welcome to stay here with me. But you don’t need to. I’m not your only option.”

When I finally found my voice, I looked up at the gorgeous, hulking man who’d promised me the world and delivered. “You’re not my only option. But you’re the only option I’m interested in.

The End.
