“But that thing wasn’t a dog, oh no. He was a mean sonovabitch that looked more like a fucking bear than a dog!” I exclaim. “Hell, he’d always be barking and growling at someone. Scaring the shit out of anyone that would walk past.”

“Yeah, people stopped going around that house. He always kept it junky,” David says, “Anyways, we did stuff to that dog all the time and Old man Thomas would come out shaking his cane, yelling at us.”

“We always took off laughing,” I say, chuckling at the memory.

“Our neighborhood was like a retirement community, always old people around,” David says. “We always pranked them. We turned their chairs over, stuffed old bird nests in their mailboxes. So much stuff.”

I shake my head as I recall those times in our past and begin laughing. The more David reveals about our rebellious nature, the more Lily loses it. She’s laughing so hard that she has tears streaming from her face.

“You two were little assholes!” she says when she finally regains her composure.

“I guess you could say that,” I agree somewhat. “But we did right by them as well. David would mow a yard while I painted a fence. Raked leaves, washed cars. It was a good set up.”

“Yes, it was,” David agrees. “I probably should get dressed and head out.”

“Me too,” I say, getting up from the table with some dishes.

“Just set those down and I’ll get them,” Lily says. “Afterall, I am the maid.” She wiggles her eyebrows up and down.

David and I get dressed and reluctantly leave Lily’s house. However, as we leave, I feel at ease with the situation and am grateful.

Especially for the maid.

Twenty-One

Lily

Igo to work the next day like normal, a smile on my face as memories from the day before creep into my head. It was nice to be able to share a night of fantastic sex with two gorgeous men, but what was evenbetterwas the fact that there was no awkwardness the day after. So, when I got dressed and ready for work today, I was in a good mood, and looking forward to seeing both David and James. I know how to keep things professional and so do they, so I don’t even have to worry about anything getting around.

Someone whodoesn’tknow how to keep things professional though, is that creep Jeff. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who made me feel as uncomfortable as Jeff does. Even just being in his presence gives me the creeps. He walks over to my desk and as much as I try to ignore him and act like I’m too busy with work, which I am in reality, but he doesn’t get the hint. Actually, I’m pretty sure he got the hint, he just doesn’t care. So, I reluctantly turn and look at him with a sigh, brows raised.

“Jeff? Did you need something?”

He rolls his eyes and sneers, looking me up and down. I do my best not to look away from him or shudder under his gaze, holding his defiantly. I refuse to let some smarmy schmuck have the satisfaction of seeing me uncomfortable.

“What’s with the snark? Is it against the rules to talk to my co-worker now?”

I sigh and shake my head. “No, I’m just a bit busy.”

“You’re always busy, a bit of chatting won’t hurt anything. How are you feeling?”

“Fine.”

I keep typing away at my screen and don’t pay much attention, but I know that if I don’t saysomethinghe won’t ever leave me alone.

“Just fine?”

I don’t respond and instead just keep typing away, my eyes on my screen.

“How was your weekend?”

“Fine.”

“What did you do?”

Fuck, this guy really doesn’t give up, does he? Another irritated sigh leaves me and I look up at him with an expression that shows just how annoyed I am with him, and I keep my voice dry and even as I speak.

“Nothing.”
