Instead, I close my eyes and smile.

Again, only one word to describe tonight: perfection.

Hot damn!

Waking up before Lily, I let her sleep in, deciding to check her refrigerator. Seeing the sausage and biscuits makes the choice a no brainer.

The smell of sizzling sausage gravy with biscuits and eggs over easy goes right into my nose down into my belly which growls like a ravenous wolf. Nothing says ‘Good Morning’ like this breakfast.

As I stir the flour into the drippings from the sausage and watch it blend easily, I think about how well Lily and I blended last night. Her soft kisses melting on my lips. The touch of her hand as she gently caresses my chest and abs, then go lower.

She’s fantastic and I can’t believe I did it either. I tap the spatula on the side of the frying pan, cringing when I realize that sound could’ve made her wake up. I look over my shoulder expecting to see Lily there.

But she isn’t.

Whew.

I finish the meal, plating the food just as she saunters into the kitchen. “Good morning, sleepyhead.”

“OH! You made breakfast,” she exclaims, taking a seat across from me. “Thank you, I really appreciate it.”

“My pleasure,” I reply. “After last night, I thought we could use a little grub. I wince as the words roll from my tongue like oil, wondering if I offended her. I look up from my plate, shoving a bite of eggs in my mouth to hide my embarrassment.

Lily chews the bite in her mouth and says, “Yeah,” she nods her head to the side, rolling her eyes. “Guess I got a little lit last night, huh?”

“Well, I wouldn’t use those words exactly,” I smile as she covers her mouth, chuckling at my comment.

“No, it’s more like wasted. I can take it,” she looks up at me, smiling wryly as I finish my meal.

“I have to say that I’ve enjoyed my time with you, but I have to go,” I lean down and peck her on the cheek. “Sorry to eat and run.”

“No worries,” She says, standing and walking me to the door. “You cooked; I’ll clean up.”

I turn to see her arm above her head resting on the open door. Her hip stuck out to the side making her look so sexy, so inviting. But I have to go. “See you on Monday.”

“See you Monday,” she replies and then shuts the door behind me.

Funny. I expected an awkward morning, but it was nothing of the sort. Talking like we’ve known each other for years, felt so comforting to me. It is surprising yet makes me happy that it went that way.

Because of what transpired between the two of us, I begin to wonder and worry about how Monday would go. It might get awkward knowing she and I had sex, and David not knowing anything about it.

That could set him off if he finds out.

David is a great guy, my best friend. He’s funny and sarcastic with a quick wit about him. However, he does keep his hurts and emotions close to the vest, so one doesn’t ever really know he feels.

Hell, after he found Carolyn in bed with his brother, I thought he’d blow his brains out. He was over the top for her. I didn’t know for quite some time how that situation affected him until about four years ago when he opened up to me about it.

Humor has always been his defense in complicated situations. And sometimes the humor is more of an insulting nature. I don’t want that happening with Lily.

Monday morning comesand Lily walks through the door like a breath of fresh air, invigorating and bringing to life all things dead in the office. The gray pinstripe pencil skirt she has on fits her enticingly well. Making my mouth water.

She, however, is fully intent on taking notes and learning her role in the company. For me, she did an overall superb job in meeting the criteria for what I want as an executive assistant.
