Ariana: Didn’t want to wake you.

This was going nowhere. Time for a subject change.

Ariana: Wanna meet for breakfast?

Damon: Meet me in five.

Ariana: Regular place?

Damon: Yep. See you then.

She hadn’t technically agreed to see him in five minutes, so she could be late without feeling bad.

Damon: Five minutes?

The man was a mind reader.

Ariana: Love you.

Damon: Ari…

Ariana: See you there.

He wasn’t the only one who could be persistent. She wouldn’t agree to five minutes if she couldn’t keep her word. That was honorable.

Five minutes ticked by.

She couldn’t leave Damon waiting forever.

On the other hand, Boone could step out of the house at any moment. Whoever he was with could answer a lot of her questions, especially if it was a woman.

Another minute passed.

Damon would text soon.

The front door opened.

Ari’s breath hitched. She slunk down, watching the house through the side window.

Boone stepped outside. Blocked the person inside.

She struggled to see, unable to get a better angle without leaving or moving the car.

He stepped to the side to reveal a woman in a purple silk bathrobe.

Bingo.

A woman that wasn’t Rita.

She kissed him on the lips. It lingered well past the point of being a friendly peck.

Ariana pulled out her phone and snapped two pictures before Rita’s husband and the barely-dressed woman pulled apart.

They were brazen, kissing on her porch, not even trying to hide their affair.

Boone spoke, waving his hands wildly, before heading to his car in the woman’s driveway.

Ari took more photos, zooming in to capture a closeup of both of them and the house address. She would leave no room for doubt. It had been Boone kissing that woman. She got another closeup of the lady’s face before she closed the door.
