“Presley,” he groaned, and she felt her belly drop in delicious anticipation.

“Yes?”

“Honey, get ready.”

“Ready for what?”

He untangled her arms from his neck, kissed one of her palms and murmured, “This.”

Then the bastard tossed her into the air. Before she had a chance to hold her nose, she splashed into the lake water. When she surfaced this time, she was sputtering and he was laughing.

She swam after him, catching him before he could dive beneath the water. She climbed on his back and dunked him, satisfied with her payback. But when he exploded out of the water and pressed her against his front, she wondered if she’d ever truly be satisfied when it came to Cash.

Eventually she’d leave Beaumont Bay and resume a new life of pay raises and wanderlust. She’d probably forget all about him once she was stationed in Italy or France.

But then he kissed her, opening his mouth to allow his warm tongue to tangle with hers, and she knew she’d been lying to herself all morning.

Forgetting him would take more than a trip overseas. She wasn’t sure a trip to Mars could erase Cash from her memory bank, but she was still going to try her damnedest to forget about him.
