With a frustrated groan, I tear myself away and go into the bathroom for a quick shower. My skin still tingles where she touched me. I don’t want to wash her scent off my body, but I don’t think our client would appreciate me reeking of sex.
When I emerge again, Ella is still asleep and I go to the bed to kiss her awake. She stirs and sleepily opens her eyes.
“Good morning, Sunshine.” It strikes me again how true my pet name for her is… she truly is my sunshine. And there I’m sappy all over again.
“Morning,” she rasps. “What time is it?”
“About ten o’clock.”
“Oh no.” Alarm registers on her face. “Weren’t you meant to leave hours ago? Have you missed your flight?”
“No, relax. It’s all good. I got up in the night to change my flight to a later one. Right before I woke you up again to lick you into oblivion.”
I wanted a few extra hours with Ella, so I created them. I didn’t mean for all of them to be spent in bed, but there are so many ways to enjoy this woman. Our insatiable hunger for each other, coupled with having five days apart, had me reaching for her until we both passed out.
“Why don’t you hop in the shower, and I’ll make us some breakfast?”
“Don’t you want to shower with me?” She grins up at me.

I groan. “I do, but then we’ll never leave and I need to catch my flight in three hours.”

Pondering my newfound knowledge, I head to the kitchen and start preparing an omelet.
Not ten minutes later, Ella saunters down the stairs with only a towel wrapped around herself.
I bite back a frustrated curse when I take in her long, bare legs. I want them wrapped around my ears while I have her for breakfast.

Her scared eyes find me, and she swallows hard. I hit the nail on the head.
I’ve studied all the available information on De Marco. He’s a dangerous man. Ella is probably not even aware of half the things that man is capable of. To underestimate him would be foolish and could be deadly.
And she’s right, he’s got the means to find her. We need to be vigilant. Her disguise must be worn at all times to make it hard for facial recognition systems to pick up her trail. And we need that fake trace of her to keep running in Europe.
“I will never forgive myself if anything happens to you, Ade,” she whispers, interrupting my thoughts.
“It won’t, Sunshine. We’ve got a good plan in place. And if he does find you, you have everyone at Freemont at your beck and call. We protect our own.”
