Jett scowled. “I never got caught as a juvenile either, Rafe.”

The hacker shrugged. “Don’t matter. You still got a record, and the right kind of skills, like mine or Choirboy’s, can get that too.” He laughed. “Even juvenile criminal records are a piece of cake to crack.”

Tawnya came over with the three beers. As she put them down, she rubbed her hip against Ronan suggestively and smiled at him. “We don’t see you in here much during the day, Clutch.”

He moved carefully away as he glared at Jett, who was smirking with amusement. “‘Cause I’m usually busy getting greasy.”

“Come by when I’m getting off and we can get sweaty. Sweat goes nice with grease.” She winked at Jett. “Bring your friend.”

Ronan looked up at her, and she leaned back, smiling and making sure he noticed her ample breasts. “What’s with you today?”

“I heard you passed on Sheila. Made me think you might be holding out for something better. I’m much better.”

“The offer is noted, but I’m kinda busy.”

Jett spoke up. “Yeah, thanks, but we have other things to focus on.” He winked. “Not that you aren’t a piece of art, honey.”

She grinned at Jett’s words before looking at Ronan. “Your loss.”

As she left, Rafe chuckled. “She’s in lust. You should think of her needs.”

“She’s got an old man.”

“He’s in the Middle East playing soldier in the sandbox.”

“And she’s fooling around?” Jett scowled. “I didn’t know she was still with Reaver.”

“Has been forever, but that doesn’t stop her from fooling around. Now what do you need in return for lavishing a beer on me?” asked Rafe.

“Come over to the garage and set up this magic box in the office. I’ll tell you over there.”

When Rafe hadhis computer open on the desk and a cold beer in his hand, he nodded at Jett. “Okay, what do you need?”

“We want you to find out about someone,” said Jett, trying to push down his irritation with Tawnya’s infidelity. It didn’t matter to him personally, and he had to remind himself of that. Just because he hated cheating and had seen the worst outcome didn’t mean that would happen with Reaver. He was just glad he’d never accepted Tawnya’s flirtatious invitations in the past.

“Like I said, no worries, but a name would be a good place to start.”

Ronan must have realized Jett wasn’t entirely in the moment because he answered. “Harvey Taylor.”

Rafe put down the beer in his hand and smiled. “A name like that makes it complicated. It’s a common name, but a simple search engine run-through should find some stuff. If it’s special stuff, we can avail ourselves of data collected with our tax dollars. So, is there anything particular you want to know?”

“His wife is dead… see if there’s anything about that, like if it was suspicious or anything. Other than that, any arrests or bust-ups. He’s got a kid, and if there’s anything that might point to problems for him.”

“Anything you do know about him?” asked Rafe.

“He doesn’t think much of the government,” said Jett.

The hacker shrugged. “Who does? Bad-mouthing the people at the top is about forty percent of what you find on social media. So all those things… what do you really want to know?”

“If he’s serious trouble or a whack job.” The thought weighed heavily on Jett’s mind, especially since the man seemed worked up over Tessa.

“Some are both,” said Ronan. “We just want to know what kind of nut he is.”

“Sure enough. I can make an educated guess with a little digging into the fucker.” Rafe frowned. “You targeting him for something? If so, does Chief know?” He clearly didn’t want Prez pissed at him.

“No. He was giving Kayla’s teacher a bunch of shit at the school,” said Ronan.

“He backed down when we suggested he wouldn’t like the consequences of pursuing that particular line,” said Jett.
