“I was just thinking this doesn’t feel like home anymore. I love it here. I love the life that I built inside these walls. But it doesn’t feel like home because I know this isn’t going to be where you are at the end of the day. Where are we going to live, Sam?”
Sam stands and prowls my way. When his strong hand cups my cheek, I lean into its warmth. “Wherever you want, principessa.”
“It sounds so different when you say it.”
Sam drops down to one knee and pulls a red box out of his jeans pocket, and I gasp.
“Snow, you’re the center of my world. You’re going to be the center of our family. The fire to my ice. I’ve loved you since the first minute I saw you, and I’ll spend the rest of my life loving you, trying to be the man you deserve to have standing by your side. Marry me.” He cracks open the box, and there, sitting nestled in black velvet, is the most stunning ruby with pear-shaped diamonds on either side. “The color reminded me of you, so I bought it. But if you want a diamond instead, we can get you that too.”
“It’s my favorite color,” I tell him with tears in my eyes. “Please stand up.”
“You haven’t answered me.”
Kneeling down in front of him, I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss his lips. I’m full of so much love for this man. “Because you never asked, silly man. Of course, I’ll marry you. But I don’t want to wait forever, Sam. I want to marry you as soon as we can. I want you. I want the life we’re going to build. I want to give our babies your last name.”
Sam pulls the ring out and slips it on my finger.
“When did you get this? I thought you said it was at your place?” I hold my hand out in front of me and admire this exquisite ring.
“If you’re asking when I got it today, I had Dean pick it up and drop it off earlier. If you’re asking when I bought it, the answer is thirteen months ago.” And my mind is blown.
“Thirteen months ago?” My voice squeaks. “You’ve had this for a year?”
Sam stands, pulling me with him. “You’ve always been mine, Snow. I just needed you to catch up.”
For the first time in my life, I feel like the Disney princess he’s named me after. “Thanks for being patient, Sam.”
“I’d wait forever for you, Snow.”
