"So," Chloe says, my attention drawn to the sight of her cuddling with my little girl in the chair next to me, Wyatt standing behind her, making faces at the baby. "What's her name?"

Looking behind me to where Adam's standing, I raise an eyebrow at him and nod in their direction. Telling my mother wasn't a big deal. She didn't get the significance. Telling Wyatt and Chloe… there are going to be tears, I'm sure.

"Remember how I swore I would never give my child a unisex name? Well, I lied." Chloe tilts her head at me in confusion. Wyatt, on the other hand, is grinning, his eyes focused behind me on Adam. He knows already. Either Adam told him, or he figured it out on his own.

"Sawyer Clair," Adam says.

My eyes are trained on Chloe's. It takes her a minute, but once I see clarity, her tears aren't far behind. There was a similar look in Adam's eyes when I suggested her name.

Sawyer was an important part of his life. A part he'll never forget and never should. From everything I've learned about her, she was smart and caring and the type of person I can only hope our daughter grows up to be.

She doesn't know it yet, but little Sawyer has big shoes to fill. The one thing she doesn't have to worry about is filling her father's heart. She had that the moment he laid eyes on her.
