"Really? It took us all morning to get her to walk to Adam," I whine.

"I told you she was special, Addison. Now, we need to get going. Chloe is waiting for us."

Rolling my eyes, I kiss Adam and Sawyer goodbye. Today's going to be hectic, and I'm sure I won't be back before he puts her to bed. The thought makes me sad but not as sad as the fact I'm about to spend seven days without her.

The plan was to get married shortly after the babies were born. I didn't want to be a pregnant bride and neither did Chloe. What I didn’t realize was how long it would take to plan the wedding.

Yes, one wedding. Two brides, two grooms. One huge event.

I've been trying to get Chloe to downsize the event, but her mother isn't having it. The entire town is invited tomorrow. We have friends and family coming in from all across the country. There's only one person who'll be missing from the wedding.

My father.

I've come to terms with it. I knew from the moment he passed away he wouldn't be here for this. I knew I'd be walking myself down the aisle.

"What time is everyone arriving?" I ask my mother. She's the one with all the details.

The Warrens are hosting the ceremony and reception on their property. Today we're finishing the centerpieces and flower arrangements. The tents and tables are being set up, and the trellis Wyatt built for the ceremony is finally being revealed.

"They're waiting on us. Bev asked me to pick up a few things before we come over."

Ah, the infamous relationship that's developed between my mother and Bev. It's a scary thing, to think that the two of them have become inseparable. At first, I assumed it had to do with the babies. They would always get together for playdates.

Then came the night Adam called me from the bar and asked me to come pick up my mother. Apparently, she and Bev decided to have girls’ night and get drunk on cheap wine. Bev is hilarious when she's lit. My mother is not. She's not much of a drinker for that reason. She gets serious, and all it takes is one wrong glance in her direction to piss her off.

The call Adam made… yep, she was irate by the time I got there.

Because of this, she promised me she wouldn't drink tomorrow, but I have a feeling she won't be able to keep that promise. As much as it's going to hurt me that my father isn't there, she's going to have an even harder time. So, Haley is on watch.

God, I love that girl.

She's a lifesaver when it comes to my life going crazy on me. For as much as she claims I saved her life, she's saved mine equally as much if not more. Especially where my mother is concerned.

The afternoon fades into evening, and before I realize, it's dark outside and we're just starting the centerpieces. Looking up at the clock, it's a little after eight, and all I want is to head home and cuddle with my two favorite people in the world.

"Go," Bev says. "And take Chloe with you. You two have been staring at the clock for hours. We can take care of the rest of this. Plus, you can't be exhausted on your wedding day. It's going to be a long day."

Chloe and I share a look, quickly thank Bev, and are out the door before she can change her mind.

"Are you ready for tomorrow?" Chloe asks as she pulls up in front of my house.

Why would she be asking me this? Am I giving off a vibe? I sure hope not. I would hate for Adam to think I'm having second thoughts.

"I've been waiting for this moment for most of my life. You?"

"I probably won't be able to sleep I'm so excited."

Chloe and I share a giggle. Most people wouldn't want to share their special day with another bride. Not us. I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate the beginning of my marriage than with my best friend by my side, getting married herself.

I can seeAdam and Wyatt standing under the trellis, waiting for the music to change so Chloe and I can make our way down the aisle. They're staring at us, grinning, when the guests stand, and we slip from view.

"Here," Chloe says, sliding something into my palm and closing my fingers around it.

Looking down, I open my hand to find my father's pocket watch, his initials engraved on the front.

"Where did you—"

"Your mom gave it to me. Said your father would have been wearing it if he were here today and that this way at least a part of him can be with you."
