"I guess so," I finally say. "I'm sorry."

Clearing my throat,I force a smile and take Adam's hand. It's more for me than for him. I need to feel his love right now. Maybe it'll help push away the pain of my past.

A past that I will eventually have to share with him.

Walking over to the table, Adam pulls out my chair before taking the seat across from me.

"Well, I had this whole thing planned out. What I was going to say. It was eloquent too. And now it's gone. So, you're going to have to settle for the blunt version of my speech."

"What if I don't like what you have to say?" he counters.

"Like that would ever happen," I remark, reaching for my glass and lifting it in the air. "Adam Jones, I'm moving in with you."

"I thought we were already living together?" he asks as I clink my glass to his.

"Sort of. I thought we could make it more official."

"It's not official enough for you yet? I mean, I could use some more room in the closet."

He really doesn't get it. I'm going to have to spell it out for him.

"That closet will be empty by morning."

"I don't need that much room, Addy."

"Okay, how can I make this any clearer? I'm. Moving. To. Fairview."

Adam's silent as my words sink in. It takes a minute, but once he pieces it all together, his eyes widen in surprise and he jumps up, his champagne splashing on his shirt.

"You're moving in with me?"

The thought crosses my mind to throw his words back at him, but my excitement overshadows the banter.

"If you'll have me," I say instead.

"I'd had you, Addison Larken," he replies, his voice taking a more serious, deep tone. "This just means I can have you anytime I want you."

"I'll take that as a yes?"

"Start packing. I'm not leaving here without you." Each word is spoken between a delicate kiss to my lips.

"Wait!" he suddenly shouts. "What about your job?"

"I'm on vacation for the next three weeks, and then I have a plan."

My knees begin to bounce under the table, causing my champagne glass to wobble. Adam notices, walks over to the wall that divides my apartment from Chloe's, and pounds on it twice.

"Get over here! Addison has news!"

"I could have called her, you know."

Adam smirks at me as he speaks. “That wouldn't have been as much fun."

My thoughts turn dirty, that look a reminder of all the things he says when we're alone, naked, and in the heat of passion. I feel my heart rate picking up as I stand and move toward Adam. I'm about to pounce when Chloe bursts through the door.

"I don't respond to demands," Chloe says, her focus directed at Adam.

"You're here, aren't you?"

"Don't be a smart ass. What's going on?"

Adam looks at me and tilts his head in Chloe's direction. "You tell her."

"Tell me what? I have like twenty boxes left to pack and—"

"I'm moving to Fairview," I say quickly.

Chloe's scream is deafening as she jumps up and down, clapping her hands in excitement. Adam's standing next to her, a satisfied smirk on his face.
