She never misses a beat. Or a chance to call me out.

She was the one who picked me up off the floor and forced me to move on after Brian screwed me over. She's the one who helped me see my value again. And she's always the one who makes me smile when I feel like the world is going to fall apart around me.

"I think you already know the answer to that."

"And does he have a name?"

"No."

"So what do you scream when he makes you come?" Cleo wiggles her eyebrows at me as I hear footsteps behind me followed by, "Who's making Mya come?"

Just great. I don't need the entire house knowing I'm getting laid. Or who's making me scream his name.

"No one," I growl at Cleo and Kora. "And even if there were someone, I wouldn't tell a soul in this house. None of you can keep a secret."

Well, except the person who's been screwing Max. Until I find out who that is, I will be keeping my lips sealed.

"I can keep a secret." Cleo pushes out her bottom lip, giving me her best puppy dog face. She thinks she's perfected it, but I know better.

Cleo is upbeat, highly organized, and high maintenance. She's also a force to be reckoned with. Her red lipstick gives her away, but it's her love of animals that fools people. They think she's soft and vulnerable when she's anything but.

"No one falls for that look, Cleo. You're far from innocent, and we all know it."

"Fine. But don't expect me to tell you who I'm shaking it up with if you won't share." Popping off her stool, Cleo turns on her heels and exits the kitchen, leaving her empty coffee cup sitting on the counter.

"Did you know she was hooking up? I had no idea."

I forgot Kora was even in the room. Her voice startles me, and I almost drop Cleo's coffee mug in the sink as I'm rinsing it. Turning to face her, I lean against the counter and search my mind for any clue of Cleo dating.

"No, but it wouldn't surprise me. She swore this year she was going to have fun." My use of air quotes around the word 'fun' is unnecessary. Everyone knows Cleo's focus has always been on the sorority and school. It's why she was voted in as our president two years ago and re-elected last year. No one even tried to run against her. They didn't want to try to fill her impossibly high heels.

"That should be interesting. Maybe we can find her someone who takes life as seriously as she does but still knows how to have a good time."

"Good luck with that."

"I may have a few ideas." Kora smirks at me, and I find myself smiling back. Until Brady's name crosses her lips.
