"Spa therapy?" I like her suggestion, but I think it's going to take more than a mud bath or a manicure to heal Cleo's broken heart. "Wait," Kendall says suddenly, latching onto my arm as I turn to walk up the stairs. Lowering her voice she asks, "Do you think it was Max? He's been a real pill since Halloween."

"It wasn't Max, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a different Kappa."

Kendall taps her chin, letting my words roll around in her head as she follows me up to my room. When she plops down in my desk chair and starts spinning in a circle, my heart stops in my chest.

Brady's jacket is still hanging from the back of it. He must have forgotten to grab it before rushing downstairs. My text said to hurry. Scarlet was in the bathroom, and the other girls were sitting down eating breakfast. I assumed Cleo was still fast asleep.

"What about Kane? Those two would be perfect together."

"I have no idea. She's not talking about it. I didn't even realize she was seeing someone."

"Are you sure that's what it is?"

"No, but what else could it be?" My eyes fall to Brady's jacket again, and Kendall follows my line of sight.

"Yours?" she asks, running her fingers along the leather.

"No. Brady left it here during the Halloween party. I haven't seen him to give it back."

"Want me to take it to him? I can stop by his place on my way home."

"We're meeting for coffee later today." It's a lie, but it rolls off my tongue so easily it feels like it could be the truth.

"You are?"

"Yeah. We’re studying for an exam together."

"I didn't realize you guys had any classes together."

"Same field of study basically. We've had a few classes together."

Kendall nods slowly, her head bobbing up and down. I can see her putting the pieces together. And the moment the final piece slides into place, the picture becoming perfectly clear, a slow smile spreads across her face.

"Stop looking at me like that."

"Like what?" Her grin only grows as she pushes out of the chair and walks toward me.

"Like you think you know something."

"I know a lot of things. My boyfriend is crazy but hot. Demanding and protective. His sweet talk is as sexy as his dirty talk. And he's been friends with Brady for a long time. So have I. I also know that Brady never takes his jacket off at a party."

"What? Why do you say that?"

"Because he's always ready to bolt. And he wouldn't be able to do that when the moment was perfect if he wasn't wearing his jacket."

Shit. She's good.

"Maybe it's not his. I just assumed—"

"No, it's his. It even smells like him."

"You know what Brady smells like?" Now I'm the one giving her a suspicious look.

"Oh, yeah. Lo tried to hook us up my freshman year. We went out once and figured out we'd make great friends and nothing more. Plus, I'm pretty sure he was interested in someone else."

Curiosity gets the best of me, and I start firing questions at Kendall before I can stop myself.

"What made you think that? Was he talking about her on your date? That's kind of rude, don't you think?"
