“Your missing bride-to-be is here and in Cedric’s bed,” I sneer, staring out the window. My grip tightens around the phone.

“Is that so? And how long has she been there?” he demands, not seeming thrilled by this. Almost as if he knows I’ve been keeping it from him. “You and your games are going to get you punished, Eliya. Start telling me everything you know and make sure it’s the truth . . . of it all.”

The eeriness taking over his voice sends a chill down my spine. Cesare Gheata isn’t one to be toyed with. He learned his psycho ways from his father and did so eagerly. It’s why I want Arwen as his so I can have Cedric. He wouldn’t treat a woman the way Cesare does. In fact, I know he wouldn’t. I’ve seen firsthand how gentle he can be.

And I want that for me.

I keep my voice down, not wanting to wake anyone, and I fill Cesare in on all I know. Everything I’ve heard and seen since being here.

I wait for him to say something, but all he does is breathe heavily through the phone for a long while. I open my mouth to call his name when I hear his voice through the speaker in my ear. “You hear anything else, you call me right away. You do not keep anything from me. I expect to hear from you again tomorrow.”

“Yes, Cesare.” I don’t want to, but to have Cedric as my own, I’ll do it.

“Good.”

I drop the phone from my ear and glance around. On silent feet, I head back to my room as quickly as I can. I don’t want anyone to see me out here. The last thing I need is to have any of them ask me if I was okay or need anything. If I have to deal with it anymore, I swear I’ll scream.

MARA-LEE

Holy shit.

I can’t believe what I just heard.

I couldn’t fall asleep and decided I’d just get up and start breakfast. I figured I’d make homemade cinnamon buns and banana nut muffins for the morning. I wasn’t expecting to overhear what I did. But holy cunt-a-saurous. I’ll beat the shit out of that skank myself.

First, I need to talk to Finley, and we need to have a family meeting. One where we talk to Cedric and Arwen.

I stick to the shadows and watch her as she walks back to her room. Once I’m sure she’s in there for good, I move to the other end of the Fort and to Finley’s room. I don’t bother knocking. I’m not taking any chances.

With a deep breath, I open the door and step inside, closing it just as quietly.

“What the hell?” Vex huffs, seeming put out.

“Mara-Lee, what’s going on?” Finley demanded, coming up from under the sheet.

“Sorry, you know I wouldn’t if it weren’t important. I’m all for orgasmic bliss for all around. However, it’s damn important,” I ramble, moving to them and sitting on the edge of the bed. I don’t care they’re both naked. It doesn’t bother me. My job is working with a bunch of women who fuck for a living. I see nudity all the time. To me, it’s a beautiful sight. They don’t have the flaws I have.

“You have our attention,” Finley says, pulling the sheet up over the two of them.

I give them the rundown and don’t miss the way both women’s eyes seem to flare with rage. Swear the two of them are a perfect match.

“I’ll kill the bitch,” Vex sneers.

“Yeah, we will, but first, we need to talk with Cedric and Arwen,” Finley says in that calming yet deadly voice. “I’m also thinking that later this morning, we’ll take Eliya on a little field trip.”

I smile liking where she’s going with this.

“Right, I’ll go inform Cedric and Arwen we’re having a family meeting, and we’re doing this now,” I declare, standing and planting my hands at my hips. “I know this is interrupting all the orgasms all of you are working at giving, but it needs to happen. I don’t like this and I don’t want anything else to happen.”

“Babe,” Finley says, knowing exactly what I’m talking about. All of it. From what happened to her after her car accident to my own horrors.

I won’t see anyone else hurt.
