When he wrapped his hand around my cock, I cried out. He used my precum to slick me up and stroked me with the same rhythm he was using to pound my ass.

I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think or form words. Pleasure consumed me, then my world burst. Wave after wave of pleasure moved over me. I may have blacked out for a few seconds. I’m not sure, but I do know I’d never come so hard in my life.

I was forced to awareness again as Grant drove into me one last time. “You’re mine, Jacob. All mine.”

“Yes.”

I savored the hot rush of his cum as he filled me again and again. When he was done, he lowered himself until his head was lying on my chest. Sweat had soaked through my shirt, but he didn’t seem to care.

“You are so fucking perfect,” he said.

I love you. I kept the words to myself. This wasn’t the time for such a big confession. The time might never come, but I had to acknowledge how I felt even if it was only to myself. “How long can we stay here?”

Grant raised his head enough to turn and check the horses. “As long as Biscuit and Zion are content.”

“You don’t have work you need to do?”

“There’s always something for me to do. A ranch is like that. But right now, all I want to do is you, though I need at least a few minutes of recovery time.”

I grinned up at him. “I can’t believe we just fucked in a field.”

“You’ve never done that before?”

I shook my head. “I only stayed on my grandfather’s farm as a kid. There aren’t a lot of fields available in Houston. Even if there had been, there wasn’t anyone interested in taking me to one.”

Grant sat up and pulled me up with him. “I find that very hard to believe.”

“Not many boys would have been brave enough to say, even if they had been interested, and I certainly didn’t have the nerve to make a move on someone. What about you? Do you do this a lot? Hook up in fields?”

“I’m used to having to find privacy where I can, and it’s easy to disappear on the far reaches of a ranch.”

“Are you ever going to tell me what happened to you in the marines?”

He let out a sigh, and I wished I’d kept my question to myself. He’d made it clear he wasn’t ready to talk about that part of his life.

“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

“I want to tell you everything about it. I just haven’t been sure I could. You deserve to know, but we should get dressed first just in case we need to get out of here quickly.”

“Do you think the FBI guys will make another move?” Why hadn’t I been thinking about how much danger we might be in exposed like this?

“I doubt they will this soon, but I always believe in being prepared. It’s saved my life more than once.”

Grant used the edge of the blanket to clean me off as well as he could, then I pulled my jeans and my boot back on while he did up his pants.

He stretched out on his side and patted the spot by him. I laid down on my back, pillowed my head on my arms, and looked up at him. There was so much pain in his dark eyes.

“I know who you are, Grant. You’re a protector. You’re someone who values family. You care about animals, and you want to help people.”

He snorted. “Then why am I harboring criminals?”

“I know it’s much more complicated than that.”

He ran a hand over his hair. “Yeah, it is.”

“Then tell me whatever you want about your life, but don’t think you’re going to convince me you’re not a good person.”

“Don’t be so sure.”
