“Can I walk you to your car?” That wasn’t going to be as good being right across the parking lot, but he could live with it.
“That’s the thing, I live within walking distance.”
“That’s why your brother and you both go here.”
“Kind of. My parents work here. My dad’s the dean of the engineering department and my mom’s an English professor.”
“The entire fam is on campus?” He wasn’t sure how he felt about that. It didn’t make him see her any less. But he didn’t want to run into her family unknowingly.
“I don’t like to share that.”
“I’m glad you told me.” He smiled at the thought that she felt like she could confide in him. “Can I walk you home?”
“Um,” She put her lips between her teeth and suddenly he wished he could put his mouth on hers. “I guess.”
