“Alex,” I whisper, my voice barely audible. I keep my eyes closed, just letting myselffeelthis moment.

Every short intake of breath matches the rapid beating of my heart.

I’ve never felt so out of control before.

“Gorgeous, I…” he starts, but stops.

I lightly scratch the back of his neck and he hums low in response.

His warm breath blows across my lips, and I breathe it in, needing it, and needing him.

His air is my air.

“I don’t want you to think that you’re just another girl.”

“I don’t want to be just another girl to you,” I admit without thinking.

“Then let’s stop. Because if you keep kissing me the way you were, then I’m going to take you right here and now. And I want you to know I see you as more than tonight.”

“IfIkeep kissingyoulike that? You’re the one kissing me like that.” I smile softly, scratching the nape of his neck playfully. “And just for the record, I would’ve let you take me here and now.”

Groaning, he pulls back and looks me in the eyes. “You’re killing me, Mel.”

“Sorry, Fonzie.” I laugh lightly. “But now you’ve lost your chance for the night.”

Smiling, he runs his hand through his hair and lets out a rush of air. I think I’ve rattled him.

“Have I? Well, now you’re going to have to distract me because I’m a little worked up.” My eyes dart down to his lap, and I see the bulge begging to be freed. I bite my lip. “And you need to not do that,” he rasps, pulling my lip free from my teeth.

Looking back up, his green eyes pin me, and he rubs his thumb across my bottom lip.

Opening my mouth, my tongue darts out and licks his finger, making his eyes go a shade darker.

“Your eyes are like honey and chocolate,” he whispers.

“And yours are like emeralds. You don’t know how many times I’ve closed my eyes and have seen them still.” He continues to brush his thumb back and forth, lulling me into my confession. “I crave them on me.”

His eyes turn to gems – hard and glimmering. “You want to feel them on all of you, gorgeous?” he asks, low and mesmerizing.

“Yes.” I nod.

“Stand up.” Releasing me, he lets go of my hand and settles back into the couch, lifting his chin, telling me to stand.

Never taking my eyes off of him, I stand up, my limbs not my own anymore. I can’t believe I’m about to do this, but I can’t seem to stop it either. My body wants this, my pounding heart wants this, and I’ve shut my mind off to anything that contradicts them.

“Where do you want to feel them first?”

“Here,” I say, running a finger across my chest and down the middle of my breasts.

“Take it off, then.” His voice is smooth, and covers me like a soft blanket – a warmth spreading across my skin.

Taking my sweatshirt off, I drop it on the floor next to me, and feel his eyes sweep over my arms and chest – the hairs standing on end in his wake.

Alex relaxes into the couch, widening his legs and rubbing his jaw.

Flicking his finger up, he motions for me to keep going.

Gripping the hem of my tank top, I slowly peel it up, and heat blooms over every inch I expose, feeling his eyes on my skin.
