Alex breathes in my hair, his chest rising beneath me. “You smell so good.”

Smiling, I tilt my head back and kiss his chin.

The moon catches on the light ripples of the lake and glistens back at us. It’s so beautiful and calm here. And even though we only have the moon and stars as light, I feel safe with Alex wrapped around me.

The dark forest of trees that I know surrounds us doesn’t even phase me as a threat because I know he would protect me from anything. Anything physical that is. My heart, on the other hand, he can’t protect, because it’shimthat it needs protecting from.

“I love it here,” I whisper, my body fully relaxing into his.

Tightening his arms around me, he kisses that spot below my ear that makes my skin tingle.

“I’m glad,” he whispers back. “This place was my escape, but after tonight, I’m going to be thinking of it in a whole new way. My dick’s going to get hard every time now, picturing you bent over my bike so beautifully, taking everything I give you.” His voice vibrates against my neck and I feel it flow through my veins.

Alex’s hand strokes the spot beneath my breasts, and even through my top I feel him – his heat.

Sighing, I close my eyes.

I’m at peace.

Whenever I’m with him, I’m at peace.

Riding, talking, kissing, touching, fucking – all of it.

I could be relaxed like I am now, or riled up like when he’s inside of me, and I’m still at peace.

After a while, a shiver runs down my spine despite the warmth he gives me, and Alex rubs his hands up and down my arms.

“Ready to go, gorgeous?”

“Mhmm,” I hum. I was slowly drifting off to sleep.

Helping me stand, Alex shakes the sand from his jacket, and puts it back on. Walking back to his bike, I pick the helmet up from the gravel and tuck it back on my head.

I wonder what it feels like to not wear one like Alex, but I’m definitely too afraid to try that yet. I only just got over my fear of getting on a motorcycle in the first place.

Climbing on behind Alex, I mold my body around his, and despite feeling tired on the beach, I’m awake and alert the second the engine rumbles beneath us.

Rubbing my thigh, I tighten my arms around him, and we’re off. The beautiful pine trees are a wall of black as we head back towards Pine Cove. My braid whips out behind me and beats on my back, and I tuck my face against Alex’s back to keep the cold wind at bay.

The ride is over too soon, and when we get back to the cottage, and the thrill of the ride is over, my tiredness comes back full force.

We walk inside together, and I don’t bother to turn any lights on. We just head straight for my bed, and I blindly tear my clothes off and crawl into bed. But I have enough energy left to pop an eye open and watch as he does the same, and I cover my small smile with the comforter.

Alex’s eyes find mine in the dark, and he climbs under the covers, pulling me against him.

With a sigh, he kisses my forehead and I drift off into a deep sleep filled with dreams of green eyes, motorcycle rides, and snuggling on the beach.

Alex is creeping into every part of me, and if I’m not careful, I know I’m not going to be able to stop myself from falling for him.

Chapter 13

Waking up to the bright morning sun streaming in through my windows, I tuck my face into the warm chest beneath me, and breathe in a spicy, woodsy scent that makes my heart flutter.

Alex’s hand strokes my back and he tugs on my braid, lifting my head up. Looking into his sleepy green eyes, my lips turn up in a slow smile.

My god, he’s beautiful. It feels weird to call a man beautiful, but he is.

“Morning,” I whisper, my voice hoarse from sleep.
