Do I think Tyler may have some sort of attraction to Gracie? Yes. Do I think he’s into her the way she’s into him? No way in hell. And I don’t say that because she’s not lovable—she’s probably the most loveable person in the world—but because she’s Gracie, and Tyler is so very much Tyler.

There isn’t much I think could happen between them, but as much as I love Tyler, I think that what could possibly happen between them, albeit a small, small chance, would be exactly what Oakley is concerned about.

“I don’t think he has feelings for her, if that’s what you’re asking me,” I finally say.

He exhales and nods a few times. I feel nearly as relieved by his easy acceptance as he looks by my answer.

“Okay. Yeah, you’re right. I guess I was just confused by his reaction to the spa talk earlier. He’s never been like that before.”

“Like what? Concerned?” I laugh.

He shakes his head. “No. I thought he looked . . . I don’t know. Possessive? Jealous? But I was clearly in my own head about it.”

I should tell him that I thought the same, but even with that strange attitude from Tyler, it doesn’t change that I don’t see them being romantically involved. Even being sexually involved is a stretch without more to go off.

“Maybe he’s warming up to her. Wants to look out for her, you know?”

He doesn’t appear to believe me but nods anyway. My guess is that he doesn’t want to worry himself over what could be nothing. He’s too smart.

“Well, should I send this video to the girls?” I ask, changing the subject.

That makes him smile. “Hell yeah.”

I open the group chat and press Send.

GRACIE

Another moan escapes me as the woman doing my pedicure pushes her thumbs into my heel, working out the tension there. “God yes.”

Ava sighs out in the chair beside me. “This must be what it feels like to take magic mushrooms.”

I snort. “Magic mushrooms? Is that as wild as you’d ever get?”

“What do you mean? Is that not wild?”

“Oh, honey. You’re so cute.”

“Don’t mock me, Gray. Don’t forget I’m older than you,” she warns.

I meet her playfully narrowed eyes with my innocently round ones. “I’m shaking in fear.”

“You and your brother are so similar it’s almost scary,” she notes.

“Yeah, I’ve heard that once or twice.” But only when it comes to our personalities. Looks-wise, we couldn’t be any more different.

“What colour are you getting?” she asks, wiggling her toes. There’s a bottle of sunflower-yellow polish on the floor beside the woman massaging her calves.

“Hot pink.”

“No surprise there.” She laughs.

I grin. “You know me. Always easy to please.”

Her eyes go wide before returning to their normal size. “You’re funny.”

“Oh whatever. I can be easy to please. Better?”
