“Please,” I whispered, not even sure what I was asking for, just certain that I needed more, needed to lose myself in him completely. My hands scrabbled at his shoulders, clutching at his chest before sliding down and slipping beneath his clothing to touch him.

Skin, hot and smooth, met my hands, and a current of heat leapt between us. A sound rumbled up from his throat and I swallowed it down, twining my tongue with his. His hands came to my hips, gripping me tight as he slid against me, my bare skin against rough material. He was hard and swollen beneath the fabric, and I ached to feel him against me, inside me.

I tugged at his shirt, slipped my hands beneath the waistband of his pants, and he shifted, lifting me off of him. I made a sound of protest, but then there was a flash of light, a twist of flame, and then all that remained of his clothing was ash and drifting smoke.

I huffed a laugh, but then he pulled me against him once again and I lost all coherency. His rigid length pressed against me, hot and smooth, and as his mouth met mine once again I reached between us. I wrapped one hand around him, aligning myself over him. His breath was coming hard and fast, his limbs tense and shaking.

“If we—” he gritted out, and I cut off his words with a kiss.

“Shh,” I said against his lips. “I know.”

I slid down, even as he pushed up into me, a slow thrust. The sensation was indescribable pleasure, a fullness, a rightness, coiling low in my belly and spreading out along my limbs until I thought I must be glowing. I paused, holding steady, until he spread his wings and stretched them toward me. I met him halfway with my own, tears shining in a hundred eyes, shimmering feathers twining together, heat coursing through me.

We moved, then. No longer two—I wrapped myself in him, in the feeling of him, dizzy and half mad with want. Was it me, or was it him, and did it even matter any longer?

My name on his lips, echoing with the promise of forever. The galaxies behind my closed eyes swirled, danced, expanded.

When we fell, it was together.
