Before I could call her on her bullshit, Isaac Lipman came strolling up to my desk. “Hey, Boss.”
“Hey,” I returned.
I watched as he looked over at Skylar. “Hey, sweet thing.” Then he winked at her.
Yeah, this day officially sucked balls.

“Hey, Isaac,” I greeted, and I couldn’t help but smile. These guys were such ridiculous flirts that it was hard to take any of them seriously.
When I had started working here about a year ago, I’d been worried at first. My boss, Waylon Patterson, had been very forthcoming about how I’d be the only female working in the department. While he had made it clear that he ran a tight ship, testosterone still made its mistakes. I had laughed at how he had phrased it, but then had gone on to assure him that I could hold my own.
Now, a year later, I was considered one of the guys for the most part. Oh, sure, they flirted, made risqué comments, and joked about how sexy I was, but it was all in good fun. I had never taken one comment seriously, and I refused to let any of it go to my head.
All the guys were good guys, and that was a rare find in the workplace. You could almost always count on there being at least one asshole in the place, but the morning crew was a good one. Yeah, there might be some assholes on the swing and graveyard shifts, but that wasn’t my problem. I worked the day shift, so if they did exist, I got to avoid them.
My only issue with working here was Landen Rush, the guy currently sitting at his desk, scowling at me and Isaac. Landen was one of the facilities maintenance supervisors, and he was damn good. While most of our management team knew their shit, Landen was a talented troubleshooter, so he was often in the middle of whatever was happening in the place.
He was also six-foot-two with black hair, grey eyes, muscles for days, and those muscles were full of colorful tattoos. Now, while a lot of the maintenance crew had tattoos, I didn’t want to licktheirtattoos. I only wanted to lick Landen’s.
Every single one of them.
When I’d first been introduced to him, I had been taken aback by his good looks. Though the maintenance department was crawling with a lot of gorgeous faces and hot bodies, Landen had more than a gorgeous face and hot body going for him. The man was also intelligent, responsible, hard-working, sexy when he was dirty and sweaty, and sexy when he wasn’t.
The man just did it for me, and I had no idea why him in particular.
Still, while he wasn’t my boss, he was a close coworker, so I had decided long ago to keep my lips to myself. No attacking him at random.
I also knew that his mother was a schoolteacher, his father owned an auto shop, and that his brother owned his own tattoo parlor. After learning all that, it made sense that he was a mechanic and a little rough around the edges. It seemed as if all the men in his family were like that.

“When are you going to go have drinks with me, then let me whip your ass in pool, woman?”
Before I could reply to Isaac’s flirty ways, Landen’s voice hit me straight in the vagina. “I know you are not hitting on her right in front of me, Isaac.”
Isaac looked over at Landen. “Get your mind out of the gutter, Boss,” he chided, but quickly winked my way. “I mean…it’s just a drink and some pool, but I wouldn’t say no if-”
“Enough,” Landen interrupted. “Go be productive somewhere.”
“Hey, getting Skylar to have drinks with me would be really productive,” Isaac argued, and I choked out a muffled laugh.
See?
So ridiculous.
“Sky can do better,” Landen drawled out.
“She’s worth the broken heart,” Isaac swore, and that was it for me.
Laughing, I said, “While I’m certain that you would survive the broken heart, I’m not so sure about the ass kicking in pool though. I’m not sure that your fragile male ego would survive that.”
“She’s got you there,” Landen snorted.
Before Isaac could defend himself, another mechanic came rushing up to our little group. “Hey, one of the engineers thought that removing a stuck lockbox with a wrench would be a good idea.”
