She giggled as he led her into his bedroom and shut the door, leaving Lady whining on the other side.
“It’s okay, girl. I got your mama. And I’m gonna take real good care of her.” Mason laid her on his bed and touched the dim lamp on the nightstand on.
“Are you ready for this, baby?” Mason asked, his warm gaze filled with a mixture of awe and fathomless affection.
Pippa’s heart leapt as her body tingled with awareness and heat. “I’m sure of one thing.”
“And what’s that?”
“That I want a lifetime of tomorrows with you looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” His brows drew together.
“Like I’m everything.”
He leaned down and kissed her on the nose. “You are everything to me.”
