Tears filled my eyes, and I blinked rapidly as I tried not to be weak in front of him. “I thought that you said I was too impulsive to become Pakhan?”
This made him laugh, and he reached up and cupped my cheek. “You are, but I think maybe we need a little shake-up.”
I didn’t think. Despite what everyone thought about me, I wasn’t always someone who did things without thinking. But this time, I did. I allowed myself to just feel what I wanted and didn’t think about how I could use Leo for my own ends.
Instead, I pressed my lips tenderly to his own, allowing the rich scent of his cologne to envelop me just as his large, warm hands did.

“I love you,” Leo told me.

I closed my eyes and allowed myself to sink into the warmth of his body. Who knew what was going to happen next, but I hoped that we would find a way through.
