“Of course. It wasn’t that long ago.”

“That was the happiest moment of my life.”

“Alexander told me to think of my happiest memory with you and that was it. I couldn’t believe you said yes. I still can’t.”

“It’s pretty unbelievable that Fort Stella accepted a proposal, Jamie, I love you so much.”

“I love you too. Did someone call Paul?”

“Yes, he’ll be here soon I’m sure.”

“I want to tell him that we’re engaged. I want him to find out from me.”

I smiled brightly, “Of course, baby.”

I gaze at her, feeling grateful for these moments, “My God, you’re so beautiful.”

She giggled at me, “You’re the beautiful one.”

Paul walked in and I said, “I better go. They only want one person here at a time.”

Paul put up his hand, “No Jamie, it’s fine. I’ll only stay a few minutes.”

“How did you get in here?”

“I may have told a white lie to get in. I’m supposed to be checking on my patients’ mental health.”

We laugh and Stella grabs her stomach.

“Are you in pain, baby?”

“No, I’m okay. Just when I laugh too hard.”

“I have news Paul.”

He glanced at her, “I’m all ears.”

“Jamie asked me to marry him and I said yes.”

“Wow. I did not see that coming. Congratulations.”

“Fort Stella getting married. Where’s April?”

“She’s at her house and she sends her best.”

“Paul, is everything okay?” Stella said.

“Everything is fine. You just need to get better so we can have some fun.”

“You’re doing it Paul. Your tell. Pinching your nose. What’s going on?”

“It’s nothing. I do have a patient to see.”

He kisses Stella on the forehead and leaves.

“Baby, he’ll be fine. Just get better.”

The nurse came in with an IV bag in her hand.
