Scarlet had tears in her eyes and said, “You’re so beautiful, Stella. This is perfect.”

I opted for lacy white boots that went up above my knees.

“That’s different Stella.”

“It’s for Jamie.”

She laughed, but I didn’t care.

I paid for my purchase and scheduled my fitting. This was all happening so fast. I am more than ready.

“Where am I getting married, Scarlet?”

“Oh no. I’ve been sworn to secrecy. However, I will tell you it’s going to be stunning. Jamie has outdone himself.”

“A surprise wedding location. He’s insane.”

“Maybe a little,” Scarlet said.

“Are you ready to go home and see your man?”

“I am.”

Scarlet dropped me near the valet. She hugged me tight. “You’re going to be such a beautiful bride. I can’t wait to see his face.”

“Me neither.”

“Text me later,” she said.

I smiled and went inside to see Jamie.

Walking through the bar to get to the elevator, I see him sitting at the bar. I walked up behind him, getting close enough so I could whisper in his ear, “Can I buy you a drink?”

“I already have a drink.”

“Can I sit or are you expecting someone?”

“I’m not expecting anyone.”

I sat beside him, “Is something wrong, handsome?”

“Not now,” he said.

“Wassomething wrong?”

“Everything is wrong when you’re not near me, Stella. It’s my addiction.”

I grabbed his hand, “Thirteen days Jamie.”

“Did you find a dress?”

“I did. I think you’re going to like it.”

“Stella, you would look beautiful in anything.”

“Jamie, what’s going on? You don’t seem happy.”

“I’m worried that you’ll change your mind in the next thirteen days.”
