Seeing Kelsey being close to Khaix wasn’t pleasant. The man was a smoothtalker, out of all warriors in my team he was the most blessed with looks. Women often swooned over him without him having to do anything.

Despite hating how close my female was to the truth teller, under no circumstances was I going to delay the inevitable. Truth had to come out.

Raze removed the white cloth from Mackenzie’s limb body. “Who is she?” I heard Kelsey ask as soon as the body was uncovered.

“Female who we assume was abducted from the same planet as you,” Khaix spoke. “Were you aware of there being other females?”

“No. Of course not!” I watched Kelsey shake as she spoke. “Is she dead?”

“We are not sure,” Raze spoke.

Khaix indicated to me that the female had been truthful about not knowing about the other female’s existence.

“You are saying you escaped the space ship without seeing any other females around you?” I heard the doubt in my warrior’s tone.

“Had I seen her, I would have tried to help her!” She sounded desperate.

I wanted to tell her how she had nothing to worry about, these questions had to be asked by him so everyone in my team would believe the story she had been telling. Normally I would be the one asking questions but I had let Khaix know ahead of time how for the first time, I wouldn’t be the one asking anything.

I paid attention to her as she looked down at the women. Her hands were shaking, she looked ready to collapse. I wanted to take her to my arms and tell everything was going to be alright.

“Interesting,” was all Khaix said.

“Have there been any other females found?”

“Can’t speak for others,” Raze spoke, “but Mackenzie has been the onlyfemale we have found.”

“Which brings up, how did you find Captain?” Khaix asked the question in a casual tone, while question was everything but casual.

“I don’t know. I had wandered around for no idea how long until I heard water, then I started moving towards it. That’s how I found Kahma,” Kelsey didn’t look up from the female as she spoke. I watched as she touched the other female’s forearms.

Truth teller showed me how she had been honest. I had believed Kelsey’s story but I was a suspicious man with lots of enemies. Knowing she hadn’t lied made me warm from the inside.

I had doubted the beautiful female for no reason. For no reason had I tried to distance myself from her as we traveled.

Kelsey

Standing in the middle of three silver men who all had well defined muscles was unnerving.

Raze, the man who stood right next to the table where the other human was laid, had a scar running down his face giving him a dangerous look. He also was the only one in the room who looked the most uncomfortable about my presents. I had noticed how he had eyed the door behind me.

Kahma and Khaix looked a lot similar. Where my silver man was edgy and strict, Khaix had a boyish charm. Even as he was asking questions from me, he looked more relaxed than other men in the room. His hair was longer than others, almost reaching his shoulders.

“What universe are you from?”

“Earth. At least we call it so,” I answered Khaix's question. “It’s a planet with a lot of green and blue on it.” No man seemed to recognise what I was describing. “Based on your expressions, I will assume it’s not nearby.” Awkward laugh escaped my lips.

I was screwed.

The longer males looked at me with their orange eyes, the more hope I lost. Chances of me ever leaving this place were getting slimmer with each passing second.

“We will find your home planet,” Khaix eventually said voice full of excitement.

“No,” my silver man said, looking at me. “You have to choose, Kel-sey. Which one is more important, finding if there are more females of your kind on Ocenum or finding a way to your planet.”

I wanted to see the people I cared about. To hug them. I wanted to be there for my mom as she went through chemotherapy but…

I knew myself. I could not be happy on Earth if I constantly thought how I could have helped females who were taken to this alien planet. I had no idea how many of us were abducted, though I wanted to believe me and the red haired women had been the only ones taken. It wasn't realistic.
