I enjoyed feeling her close to me. It calmed me.

“So you are saying I am weaker because I am not a warrior.”

“Yes,” I agreed with her.

“Hey,” she pinched my side, “that was mean of you. I am very strong and capable.”

“Very strong indeed,” I murmur while practically dragging the female with me. I knew she needed to rest, I also knew she would refuse the stop just to prove me a point. “Big and scary as well.”

“Exactly,” she spoke with a smile on her lips. Shaking my head, I kept leading us closer to the crash point.

Kahma seemed more relaxed than I had seen him before. He smiled easier, he always found reasons to touch me. His hands barely left my body as we got closer to the open area. I could see the area in the distance, even if I wouldn’t have seen it, the silver man’s hand tightening on my waist would have been an indicator.

Despite being more touchy, he seemed to look around us a lot. He had changed into his black armor, making him look a lot more dangerous.

“Stay behind,” he said as we reached the open area, with a shift movement he pushed me behind his body. I wanted to protest but I knew it was safer for me if I did as the man told me to do.

Quietly, I walked behind him, taking in the scenery in front of me.

When I first had opened my eyes, I hadn’t paid much attention to the surroundings. It was a fairly large area with big trees at the edges. There were odd spots of green dirt mixed with the cyan grass. A lot of flowers in different colors were growing close to the outside of the circle. Some single trees grew in the open area, they were skinnier and shorter than the trees I had seen.

I couldn’t see a single bird or animal, which wasn’t that surprising but not being able to hear any nature sounds felt confusing.

Kahma moved slowly, from his stance he looked ready to attack. His head kept moving from side to side. I saw his hand reaching for mine so I took hold of his as he led the way close to the middle of the open area.

“Do you remember where the spaceship was?” I heard him ask.

“I can only guess where it was,” I answered truthfully.

“That will work.”

I pointed at the area on the other side, closer to the area where the forest seemed more spare. “I remember running for a while before I got into deeper forest.”

Kahma nodded as an answer. He took out a device from his pocket, pressed a button in the middle of the small flat disc and threw it up in the sky. The small disc was barely visible in the sky as I tried to pay attention to it.

“Drone,” my silver man said. “It will scan the area of any risks.”

“Why would there be risks here?”

“Whoever took you would have to be confident you didn’t make to not leave any cameras to check the area,” Kahma spoke, his hand holding onto mine tighter. “I don’t want to risk with your well-being.”

“You shouldn’t risk with yours either. I love you too much,” I confessed.

“Love? What’s that?”

“It’s the feeling when you care a lot for someone,” I spoke as the small disc flew back to us, “and that person is very important to you. As you are to me.”

“In that case,” Kahma said while the disc landed on his arm, instead of looking at the disc he looked straight into my eyes, “I love you very much. I will kill everyone who will try to hurt you, Kel-sey.”

I wasn’t going to comment how he doesn’t have to kill anyone to prove he loves me.

He looked me in the eye for a while, his orange eyes seemed to carry a promise. Promise to care for me and make me the happiest I could be on the foreign planet.

Small smile on my lips I watched as he fidgeted with the drone. His brows were pushed together from the information he had received from it. The information didn’t seem to please him.

“I have to connect with Cyrus,” he let me know before taking out another device from his pocket. I heard the device make a ringing voice before Cyrus, his tech picked up the call. “I am fairly certain another female from Earth escaped the spaceship,” I heard Kahma say. “She most likely is with Zycels.”
