“Drone?” I heard a deep voice ask.
“Yes.”
“On it, Captain,” as the other voice had spoken, Kahma closed the device.
“Another human?” I asked the man in front of me.
“If the drone is correct. I had my suspicions earlier. Kel-sey, I will do what I can to save her but if she’s with Zycels…”
“Who are Zycels?”
“They will make her feel welcome, give her everything she would ever need just to make sure she would stay with them willingly,” his eyes never left my face as he spoke to me, “when they no longer find her useful, they strip her naked and throw her out.”
Not knowing what else to do I put my arms around his body, pulling him against mine. I knew there was information he wasn’t sharing with me about the new species, to protect me from the dangers of his planet.
“Let’s go home,” I whispered to him. “No matter what happens, I love you.”
“I love you too, Kel-sey.”
