He kissed and nipped his way down her stomach. The tiny stings of pain inflamed her, igniting a primal urge within her as his mouth traveled lower. His finger slipped between her slick lips, circling her hard bud. She moved her hips against his hand. She moaned when his finger entered her, feeling a moment of relief before the hunger returned.

He positioned himself between her legs, his fingers working inside her as he licked and sucked vigorously on her clit. Her mind went blank as her core tightened.

She rocked her hips more forcefully. The pressure increased, yet she couldn’t reach the relief she sought. “Please.”

He moved faster, harder, taking her to the edge only to slow his pace before she could reach the ultimate pleasure.

“Colton!,” she snapped. The pressure was painful as her fiery body begged for relief. Cresting the apex but unable to fall off.

Colton sat back on his knees, stroking his massive cock. “You are my mate. Complete the bonding ceremony with me. Say you are mine.”

Riley followed the lazy slide of his hand over his shaft. He didn’t rush. She licked the saliva forming in her mouth. She pictured sucking on him deeply, his shaft penetrating deep into her throat. Heat scorched her body, and intensified without Colton’s touch. An inferno that he controlled.

“I’m yours. Now and forever. I have never wanted anything more.” She could no longer imagine a world that didn’t include Colton.

He was on her in an instant. His mouth fastened to hers as the head of his cock pressed against her slick entrance. “We will find a way to defeat the demons and seize our eternity.”

“Yes,” she panted, clutching his shoulders.

She gasped as he thrust into her. She expected him to go slow, to build the crescendo. He didn’t. His deep strokes continued as he buried himself deeper and deeper into her body. Burning need overshadowed the sting of pain. She met his thrusts, urging him to push harder, deeper. Each stroke claimed a piece of her soul. Binding them together for all time.

She felt her core tighten, the small muscles circling Colton strengthening their hold before letting go.

Riley shouted his name as the orgasm ripped through her like a firestorm. Tiny sparks exploded behind her eyes as she clung to him.

Colton moaned as his orgasm joined hers.

They lay in each other’s arms as their breathing returned to normal. Colton made a lazy pattern on her back, a strange symbol that felt beautiful and intimate. She wished they could stay there forever, locked in each other’s embrace; hidden from the world and the uncertainty it now possessed.

He kissed her temple. “We will find a way to stop the experiments. As long as we work together, anything is possible.”

Her eyes flickered. “I believe in you. In us.”

EPILOGUE

Deruthel stood on the mountaintop that overlooked the valley belonging to the cougar clan. His nostrils flared as the lesser demon approached. He had considered killing the insignificant reaper or leaving him to his fate in the last battle. But as annoying as Breck was, he possessed valuable knowledge about the shadow clans. And they had proved to be a far more intriguing opponent than he first anticipated. He could barely remember the last time a world truly gave him a fight. The growl that escaped through his teeth was one of excitement. The anticipation was almost better than fresh blood. He turned as his subordinate met him on the rocky crag. “What is it Breck?”

“More than half of my reapers were destroyed in the last battle,” Breck said.

“They served their purpose. You should be more grateful. Had I not collapsed the pathway between you and Ferguson, you would be with them.”

Breck nodded. “Thank you.”

“I saved you because I have a task for you.”

“What is it?”.

“You will help me secure my bride,” Deruthel said.

Breck glanced out over the valley. “How? Her and Dannika are too well protected.”

Deruthel’s lips curled over his serrated teeth. “I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise. There is a richness in allowing your enemy to think they have won. Betrayal bears the sweetest fruit, and can only be served by someone you love.”
