Hina grinned. “That is an excellent idea, Lady Irith.”

Lily smiled. “It really is. There is a festival in six weeks to celebrate the greening of the wind-blown sands.”

Hina chuckled. “I was a designer on Earth. I will enjoy engaging in my old craft.”

Iris nodded. “Let me know if I can help.”

“I will, Lady. I wasn’t sure of you when your gathering was unleashed in this city, but now, I think you will be the first to anchor yourself to this world.”

Lily laughed. “You have no idea.”

Hina left, and Iris sighed. “It doesn’t seem real yet.”

Lily smirked. “It will when you tell Yavor.”

“He gets home in two days. I will tell him then.”

“Are you sure you want to wait?”

“No. Not really. Maybe when we video chat tonight.”

Lily laughed. “Coward.”

“Deferring coward.”

They giggled and then went for their walk through the city with a few of the accessories that Yavor had insisted on once she proved she could use them.

“So, how does Arluth like these visits?”

Lily blushed. “He’s good with them as long as I go back to him every night.”

“Have you two... uh...”

“No. He just holds me every night. We play a bit, but that’s it.” The blush remained. She remained pink until they got to the fruit stalls, and Iris picked a few pieces and handed Lily her favourite.

They walked to visit a few of the other Terrans from their group and even more from the previous gatherings. It was a nicewalk, and she met a lot of new people who were enjoying the new world while still mourning their old one.

Iris and Lily headed back to the marketplace for lunch when there were two thuds right behind them. Iris turned and looked at the two new Hmrain. She cocked her head. “Good afternoon, sirs.”

“Finally, we have found the two pets out and about. Ladies, please join us for a remarkable evening.”

Iris looked at them. “Really? You are going to try that? We are both spoken for.”

She casually reached for the small tubes on her bracelets and thumbed her alert.

“It isn’t a true match. You are not his bond companion. She is pale with brown hair.”

“Who has said this?” Lily scowled.

“Madame and Ally.” They frowned. “We were assigned to their security.”

Iris chuckled. “Fine. If you want me, come and take me.”

Lily hissed, “Iris!”

There was a crowd gathering.

The pale yellow male stepped toward her, and the small tubes extended, and she pointed them at him and flexed her fingers. A blast hit him mid-chest, lifted him, and dropped him to the ground.
