“Hardly.” He leaned down to capture her lips with his once again, enjoying her response that was as artless as it was passionate. Even her light freesia and vanilla scent captivated him.

He was going to enjoy every minute with his wife.

She sighed softly, then admitted, “I researched you, too.”

“You did?” But of course she did. She wouldn’t have set-up just anyone to sleep with and then force into marriage.

She nodded. “You have a good heart. You’re smart and fair. And your people love you.”

A glow started somewhere inside his chest and it took everything he had not to simply open himself up to her and give her the ability to rip out his heart. “I’m fair,” he conceded, “but I can be unforgiving when warranted.”

“And that is what makes you a great leader.”

He arched a brow. “You are good at stroking a man’s ego.”

She giggled. “As good as I was at stroking your cock?”

He chuckled, though his shaft thickened and throbbed. “You’re a natural at both.”

She wound her arms around his neck. “I think I’m going to like being your wife, Sheikh Jamal.”

His inner glow spread and infused every cell of his body. That it was as wonderful as it was unsettling wasn’t something he wanted to think too deeply about. He was by nature a cautious man and he knew to trust his instincts.

This woman had the power to hurt him deeply.

That he was willing to take that chance showed just how serious he was about her. He needed her in his life.

His dick was rock-hard when he kissed her again and murmured, “Let’s make that family we so desperately want.”

She stiffened beneath him and Jamal frowned. “Is something wrong?”

She held his gaze, but her eyes were no longer open, they were shadowed and filled with secrets when she asked, “Will you have sex with your harem women while you’re married to me?”

Why did he get the feeling she was evading his question by asking another one?

He shook his head. “It’s just you and me, angel. I don’t and have never had a harem.”

Her stare widened. “Really?”

He smiled down at her. “Don’t sound so surprised. I’m wealthy and powerful enough to have women throwing themselves at me without needing a harem on the side. And you said it yourself, I’m a fair man. I don’t expect you to put up with me being with other women when I expect you all to myself in return.”

“If only my dad thought the same way about my mother,” she said softly.

How much had Yasmine’s relationship with her dad affected her trust with other men? He only hoped she’d learn to trust him. He stroked slowly inside her and like a flower her body opened up for him, blossomed.

Soon enough he hoped her mind would do the same.

Chapter Seven

“Rise and shine angel!”

Jamal’s voice penetrated Yasmine’s subconscious and she blinked as he opened the bedroom blinds and sunlight poured through the window and over his partially naked body.

Dear Lord, the towel wrapped low on his hips should be illegal.

“I can take it off if you prefer,” he purred.

Shit.She’d said that out loud?
