“So, this is really your house?” she said softly.

“Yes.” He smiled, taking one of her hands. "Mykie, all I want is your time, and to take you on a date or two. After that, we can decide what the hell we're doing with each other.”

“What if I told you that I wanted to be with all of you,” she blurted. “That I liked you all equally. Would you still want to take me out?”

Renly’s eyes widened. “I…I don’t know how to feel about that. So, you want to date my friends at the same time as me? Am I understanding that correctly?”

She nodded, looking down at her lap.

"We just met last weekend," she muttered with a frown. "You think we're moving too fast? Getting too close too quickly?"

He seemed to think for a moment. Long enough that Mykie looked up to see if he was completely disgusted with her. Didn’t she just accuse him of seeing another girl while flirting with her? How could she ask him to possibly accept her seeing people he knew while he was offering to go on a few dates and be committed to her?

"No." He shook his head with a sweet smile. He suddenly moved to stand up, but Mykie didn't move. She sat on to ground until he towered over her and held a hand out to her. "You know why I don't think that?"

She shook her head and took his hand. She was surprised at the strength he used to pull her up and wasn't quick enough to react until she was pulled into his chest. His free hand came around her waist and his other hand moved to hold her hand more intimately.

She tilted her head up, looking into his eyes. Soft green meeting harsh green in a war of emotions that neither knew how to explain.

"It's because I know you feel it, too. This attraction between us. It's like electricity whenever we're alone together. Even when we aren't alone, we're like two wires, just waiting for the moment before we cross paths and ignite."

"Sparks burn out quickly, in my experience," she murmured.

"Not ours." He said it like it was so simple. So matter-of-factly. Almost like it was a fact in a history. "A spark like ours is meant to burn for longer than normal. Maybe not forever," he said, winking, "but for quite a while."

"What if our spark ignited other wires?" she whispered. "They're small right now, but those sparks are quickly growing to be as big as our spark?"

“Then we will deal with those sparks. If that means I never have to see you running out my door again, I’ll be okay with those other sparks, especially if they’re as big as the one I have for you. Is this what you really want?”

She took a step back and pushed some of her hair behind her ear.

She looked back at Renly, who stood confident. She had a perfectly good guy standing in front of her, accepting her terms. One that wanted to be with her, no questions asked.

What if she was making a mistake, asking them to do this? She thought she knew what she wanted with these men, but they just met her. Two out of the three hadn’t even met the other side of her life.

Caspar was already privy to her secrets, and no matter what she felt about Renly, he would ultimately know her more than Renly. He'd know an entirely more real version of herself. One where she didn't have to hide who she was. They were connected now, and there was no way for it to be undone. At least, not with him still breathing after.

Corbus was the most innocent in the situation at the moment. He was afraid to openly pursuing her, but he was trying hard to connect with her. No one else had ever tried that hard with her. They either wrote her off as something not worth their effort or it became something meaningless for them. She wanted to show him that same effort, especially after the night before.

It was on the tip of her tongue to say more...but she stopped. She knew, deep down, that now wasn't the time. It didn't feel right to confirm that this was what she wanted, especially without the others present. Especially when they didn’t know the real her. Until they knew everything about who she was, there will always be the risk of her losing all of them.

She shook her head and took another step back. She realized that she never answered his question. "I need to get to work, as I expect you do, too."

"Wait—"

He reached out but stopped when she stepped back again.

"We'll have this talk another day, I promise," she pleaded. “Just don’t mention anything to the others until I’m absolutely sure this is what we should do. Please?”

She watched Renly out of the corner of her eye as she moved over to her bag. She didn't change her clothes yet, but that didn't matter to her anymore. She needed to get away before she said the wrong thing.

“Go ahead and change. I’ll turn around,” he said after a while, already turning the other direction before he was done with his sentence.

She nodded silently. She dug in her clothes bag and grabbed the pair of jeans, her long-sleeve shirt, and her sweatshirt out. She didn’t know why it felt different with Renly in the room instead of Blaine. Maybe it was because he’d already seen her in less. It was possible that she trusted him more not to peek or take advantage of her trust.

She threw her clothes on quickly and stuffed the outfit she slept in back in the bag. Once she had everything she brought in one bag or another, she zipped them closed and started collecting them on her shoulders again.

"Do you need help carrying your bags?" he asked after she struggled for a few minutes to get her bags to settle neatly on her shoulders.
