“That’s one conversation I look forward to having for once.” Ryker’s face broke out in a genuine smile, and I felt a part of my heart I’d thought long lost begin to thump again. “Well, I have a few more meetings I need to have. Can we all do dinner later? Karen’s been asking about you in the canteen.”

“That sounds like a plan. It might be good to leave our suite for once. See you in a few hours then?”

“It’s a date.” Ryker winked, jumping off the table and sauntering to the door. The three of us stood slowly, following, and I wondered just what we were in for. Ryker Jenson was a mystery I was eager to uncover.

* * *

When we walked backinto the suite, I found it filled with shopping bags. I stopped, blinked, and then blinked again when they didn’t disappear.

“Okay, I’m not dreaming. So, why are there so many clothing bags in our suite?” I asked whoever knew the answer.

Milo limped out of the bedroom, startling a little when he saw us. “Oh, hey. I didn’t hear you.” He smiled sheepishly, and I knew, whatever the reason for all the bags, he was responsible.

“What’s with all the bags?” I asked, walking closer to him. I instinctively placed my hand on his forehead, checking his temperature. He smiled down at me.

“I’m the doctor, remember?” He tugged me into his arms, and I carefully wrapped mine around him. “And I’m not broken. Still a little tired, which is why I didn’t go to the meeting, but I promise, I’m good.” He kissed my forehead, a soft smile spreading as he stepped back, his hands on my forearms. “As for the bags, well, I felt bad that all the things you’d picked out had gotten… misplaced. So, I took the opportunity to get replacements. I hope that was okay?”

I hadn’t even thought about the clothes, which was a first for me. I guess I was worried they’d bring bad memories, but as I looked at the bags filled with untold treasures, the same feeling of euphoria began to crawl through my body at all the possibilities.

“More than okay. Oh, I can’t wait to see what you got!” I clapped my hands as joy escaped through my body from my head to my toes. This was precisely what I needed. A good distraction from everything else.

I began to open bags, oohing and aahing at tops, skirts, pants, socks, bras, panties, and even shoes. Milo had thought of everything, and not only had he gotten me new things, but the guys as well.

“That doctor memory of yours must come in handy, remembering everyone’s sizes,” I said as I looked in awe at the display.

“As much as I would love to take credit for that, I called and asked the guys.” Milo blushed, the red creeping up his neck, and I found it adorable. Walking over, I was careful of his injuries as I hugged him, pulling his face down for a kiss.

“You’re adorable, and I love it. Thank you. You’re going to spoil me, though, if you keep doing this.”

“Nothing would make me happier, darling.”

Fluttering my eyelashes, I fought my own blush as I peered back at the guys. “Does this mean I can style everyone tonight?” I rubbed my hands together in excitement.

“Sure,” Asa said, sitting on the couch and picking up a bra. “This is my color.”

“Not really your size, though. I think you’re more of a 38 C, bro,” Cohen teased, picking up a shirt. Asa laughed, sitting the bra back into the bag.

“Now this I like,” Cohen said, looking over the shirt. It was blue and went perfectly with his eyes.

“Good, because I want you to wear it with these.” I handed him gray pants, and he nodded, taking the things and walking to the bedroom.

I began to put the clothes in piles so they could sort out their things, and I could get all of mine out of the living room. “Hope we have enough room in the closet,” I groused, worried I’d have to pick and choose which to hang.

“Actually, we’re being moved,” Milo said, just as Cohen walked out, an odd look on his face.

“Is that why none of our stuff is in the bedroom?”

“Yes. I got the message after all this had been cleared through security. Ryker fears there’s a mole in The Order. Someone had to tell Dex how to track our movements or where we’d be. So, he wants us in a more secure area. We’re to get dressed and leave everything else, which will be moved while we’re eating dinner.”

“Wow, he could’ve mentioned it,” I grumbled, feeling a little out of the loop. But knowing he had a million things on his mind, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt he would’ve at dinner. Packing up all the items, I left everything by the door that wasn’t what I needed for us.

I handed a pile of clothes to Asa and Milo and then took my own into the bathroom. I jumped in the shower and rinsed off my body, managing to keep my hair out of the spray. Once I was done, I dressed in the new clothes, feeling all kinds of hot and badass in my sparkly shorts, slinky tank, blazer, and black high heels. Whoever said that clothes couldn’t change the world clearly had never worn something this awesome.

When the guys took me in from head to toe, I could tell they also agreed with me.
