“We made it,” I gasp, still not believing it.

“Yeah, you did it.” His smile is suddenly shy.

I squeal, and before I know it, I throw my arms around his neck and hug him, taking him and myself by surprise. He slowly puts his arms around my waist, pulling me into his body. Then it dawns on me… I’m actually hugging a complete stranger. He buries his nose in my hair and takes a deep breath. My chin brushes his shoulder, while his hair tickles my cheek. This is nice, way too nice. He smells like pinewood, mixed with sweat, snow and motor oil. I love it. I’m probably never going to bump into him again, so I should make the most of it. I lean back, our lips inches away from each other, and we both smile at the same time.

He brushes his hair back, his gaze roaming my face before staring at my mouth. When a woman calls his name, he steps back, breaking the spell. Thank fuck, I don’t know what would have happened if I leaned in and pressed my lips to his. Starting to lose my balance again, I make a little squealing sound.

“Whoa, hold on,” he says, grabbing my shoulder to steady me.

This day is getting better and better. I’ve managed to spill my guts to a guy I just met who probably thinks I’m certifiable.

And I totally forgot about Shane.

Heat flushes my cheeks, and I fall flat on my ass as a beautiful blonde walks up to us. Just shoot me now.
