“No.” I rubbed my chin. “What would your reaction be if I said that to you?”

“I’m not sure.” He shook his head. “I can’t imagine it.”

“Why did you say it last night?” Watching him stare down at the blank page and up again, as if hesitant to tell me, tugged at my heartstrings.

“I wanted you to hurt as badly as I did at that moment. I was scared. I deeply regret my choice of words, Sir.”

“I forgive you.” His shoulders relaxed. I wouldn’t allow one fight to cause a rift between us. “I’ve got some phone calls to make regarding the event tonight. If you finish your tasks before I check on you, I want you to wait for me. No phones. No television. Am I clear?”

“Yes, Daddy.” Emma gave me a thumbs up.

“Yes, Sir,” Elias answered.

They were in perfect harmony as if they planned it.

Obedient. Compliant. Just as I always hoped for. Two brats navigating my guidelines, my rules. Their responses filled me with warmth. They trusted me.

“I’ll be back in a few.”

Emma

Watching Elias write lines next to me deepened my attraction to him. I loved him and Luke equally, but somehow the glimpses into his submissive side gave me another level to relate with him. I originally had been worried about potentially seeing him as only submissive rather than as a strong dominant, but he threw all those worries out the window almost immediately.

Elias navigated his relationship with Lucas, as well as ours, in what seemed like a decidedly skilled manner. Envying the ease, I hoped it would come more naturally to me.

Give yourself grace.

The thought sounded like Luke’s stern voice, and it was correct. I’d only been involved with the two men for a short amount of time, though perhaps the trauma I’d endured to get here had bonded the three of us quickly.

Pausing the task for a moment, I tapped Elias’ foot with mine. “Would you ever punish me by washingmymouth out with soap, Sir?”

“No. There are other ways to remind you of the sort of behavior I expect.” He set the pen down, giving me his full attention. “Why do you ask?”

I bit down on my lip, sucking on it while I gathered the nerve to find out how he would respond. “If I flipped you off, for example.”

“I’d likely ask you to do additional chores that are a bit more manual. Mucking out the stalls maybe, or something else physically intense. Using your hands for good and not for rude gestures.” Elias lifted the pen and began writing again.

“You’re sort of brilliant.”

“So, I’ve been told.”

“Not just book wise, Daddy.” I kissed his cheek. “In all the ways.”

“Finish your lines, Emma.” He planted a kiss near my temple. “I have a feeling there is much more to this punishment than ink to paper.”

I stared at his handsome face, loving the concentration as he wrote. Following suit, I returned to the assignment. “You have lovely handwriting for a doctor.”

“You should see my signature.” He chuckled. “I’ve done this before, but not in a long time. I’d have to repeat the sentence if it wasn’t legible.”

“I thought you and Luke weren’t together.”

“We weren’t, but it never stopped him from dishing out non-physical punishments when my brat refused to cooperate.”

I thought about what that must have been like for him. To have rules and sometimes repercussions but without anything more. “Do you like when he spanks you, Sir?”

Elias cleared his throat. “Nope.”

“Not even a little bit?”
