“We can do that after the dress rehearsal next week. Well, if you know the whole wedding schedule, then you certainly know how all of our work is going to fit in around it.” I continued to torment her as my fingers swirled circles over her core, then I quickly snatched my fingers away. I hated the pants she was wearing. Maybe I’d demand that she only wore skirts and dresses so I could finger her, lick her, or plunge into her anytime I want.

“There’s not a lot of time leftover for wedding stuff, but if you can schedule all that and still make things run smoothly, then you will be the best don in all of Chicago.”

“We have an hour until the caterers get here. That way we can try a few of them out and see which one we liked the best.”

“I know it’s a small thing, but thank you for not just dictating what should happen with the wedding? I really do appreciate it. While we wait, I’d like to go visit with Elana and see what other information I can come up with.” She was being very agreeable, which made me slightly suspicious.

“I believe that can be arranged.” I smiled at her enthusiasm and decided to accept her words at face value.

Bria took my hand, and we started walking towards Elana’s room. It took me by surprise, I had never held hands before, but it felt right with Bria.

“What are we going to do with her long term? It would be nice to start letting her know that she does have a future somewhere,” Bria pointed out.

“Truthfully, I hadn’t thought about it. She probably wants to be reunited with her family. Let’s see if we can arrange a phone call to them. Something that’s secure,” I suggested.

“That’s not possible,” she sadly said. “She was in foster homes for years before turning eighteen. Honestly, she wasn’t sure what she wanted in the future. She didn’t think that she can ever be normal or find a man that will love her. It’s not like we can offer her a future that is going to come out nicely after all that she’s been through.”

“We’ll see if she has any idea about what her future looks like. I’m willing to help her get started in her new life.”

“Thank you.” Bria stopped us and kissed me before turning toward Elana’s room. I was really loving all this affection from her.

I watched her walk away. She had a very nice ass. I was getting a real bargain.

Once she was out of sight and headed up to Elana, I turned with reluctance to head to my own office.

“Darling,” my mother answered my call on her way home from the downtown office.

“I’m adding Dad to the call,” I informed her.

“Hey, Mom, Dad. I was able to speak with Marco this morning and he’s sending over his books. It took some finessing, but I’ll be checking everything over this week and want you to analyze them for us. I feel like there’s something that he’s not telling us and I don’t want surprises.”

“I can understand that you want to have it analyzed by a financial adviser. That’s fine, Son,” Dad agreed with me. “If Krysten needs help, she can hire it.”

My mom spoke. “That brings up another good point. I was wondering if we might hire Carina as part of the merger. She’s finishing law school this year, and she might be an asset. It would be better if we kept her close versus trying to let her go her own way.”

“Perfect, Mom. I’ll speak with Bria. She’ll think it’s a pretty great plan. Anything that keeps her family safe and her sister close to her. She’s rather protective over her.” I smiled, thinking how much happier I was to marry her than Carina. I had confidence in Bria at this point.

“Are you going to go shopping with the girls?”

“Yes, I believe so. It’s a good idea if we all spend a little time together since we’ll all be family soon.”

“Couldn’t agree more. We’re taking over an entire section of the city and there wasn’t any bloodshed. We’ve done a good thing. Especially you, Son, in taking the brunt of the merger by marrying Bria. She is something else. I’m happy that I don’t have to deal with being married to her.” My father wasn’t above being brutally honest at times. I didn’t fault Bria’s hatred for my father though, but listening to what he said, I had to bite my lip.

My protectiveness of Bria was getting stronger. I wanted to protect her from my own father.

“Good to know that I don’t challenge you anymore, honey. I’ll just have to make sure that the honey do list is rather large. I wouldn’t want you to get bored during your retirement,” my mother chided him. She didn’t care for his comments about Bria either. I was glad to know my mom liked Bria also. That made for more support on her side. Mom could also control dad better than anybody.

“I think I’m going to let you two figure this out without me. Later.” I ended the call and breathed a sigh of relief.

I went to work looking through the reports that were sent over from the distribution center that Riccoli went to clean out for me. I quickly came to the conclusion that the paperwork was atrocious. It was purposely difficult to read and sort through.

Right now any information about where the girls were shipped to or where they came from was all in front of me somewhere. It was my chance to rescue the others, but there wasn’t going to be an easy answer to any of this paperwork.

Most of it was in code and it was going to take a bit to cipher it out. Each letter and word meant something. I needed to kill all those that had worked at the distribution center all over again.

Even Riccoli would have a hard time working through things with the way these were arranged, but I was going to need his and a few more eyes on this to make it happen quickly.
