She pulls me in for a hug and while she’s hugging me, my gaze connects withhim. How am I ever going to get over Mr. H? I’ve had a taste and after just one hit, I’m addicted. Maybe I need to listen to Nicole and Fern and get under someone else, but how can that happen when I can’t even get past kissing?

“Question,” I ask Fern when she pulls back.

“Does the Pee Man have a friend?”

“Are you asking what I think you’re asking?”

“Maaaaaaaybe.” I bring my glass to my lips and drink, hoping to calm my nerves now that I’ve voiced my request. However, the crisp wine does nothing to ease my worries about my love life, well, lack thereof due to a certain sexy silver fox who is currently staring intently at me.

“He does.” Fern nods but then she makes a face. “But no, just no. Pee Man, or Tucker as I call him, has shit taste in friends.”

Nodding, I then ask, “Another question, why are you with him?”

“His tongue,” she nonchalantly replies with a shrug.

“His tongue,” I repeat. “Explain?”

“I have never climaxed the way I do when he goes down on me. Like I will seriously take his tongue over his dick, that’s how talented his tongue is.”

“Wow.”

When I look up, Tucker is walking back toward us. He licks his lip, and somehow, he makes that look seductive and I think I can see the appeal. Fern smacks me in the shoulder. “Back off, that tongue is mine.”

How she knew what I was thinking I will never know. “A good friend would help me get over you know who.”

“And I am the bestest friend you have ever and will ever have, but that tongue is mine and mine alone. Do not make me kill you, I don’t have time to find a new bestie.”

“Man, I missed you,” I tell her, nudging her shoulder with mine.

“And I missed you too. When are you moving back here?”

“Half past never. My time in Silverbell is over. I have a job—”

“As a stripper,” Fern whisper-snarls. “Which I still can’t believe you are but, babe, what about your degree?”

“I told you, I’m looking,” I hiss through my teeth. “You can lose that look because believe me, I am. I can’t be at the club anymore without thinking ofhim, but a girl needs to eat and live. I have no choice right now.”

“But—”

“No,” I shout. “I’m not having this conversation with you again.” I don't mean to yell at her but it’s my life. I know she doesn’t agree with the choices I made but I had, and still have, no choice in how I make a living. I made a shit situation manageable and now I have to suffer the consequences of the decisions I made. Needing a moment to breathe, I jump off my chair. “I’ll be back.”

With my head down, I race to the corridor where the restrooms are located. Turning the corner, I bump into a hard body and from the scent enveloping me, I know exactly who it is. “Mr. H,” I breathlessly whisper when I lift my gaze to his.

“Sunshine.” My name sounds so sexy passing through his lips and it causes every single nerve ending to light up in my body. He takes my hand and drags me down the corridor and into the family restroom.

“Mr. H, what are you doing?”

“We need to talk,” he says, closing the door behind him and flicking the lock.

“In a family restroom?”

He shrugs. “I … I …”

“You what, Mr. H?”

“I can’t stop thinking about you,” he whispers.

My eyes widen at his statement. “What? You can’t … what?” I stammer.
