Page 31 of Love Me Like You Do

“You heard me, Sunshine, and … and, I think you’ve been thinking about me too.”

Swallowing deeply, I stare up at him. My breathing becomes labored. My heart is racing. My hands are clammy and my panties, well, they’re soaked. He steps toward me and I back up but when my ass hits the counter behind me, I have nowhere to go. He crowds me in, resting his palms on the countertop, trapping me. “Mr. H, what are you doing?”

“Sunshine, I can’t stop thinking about you.” He reaches up and cups my cheek gently running his thumb along my jawline. “You’ve been on my mind constantly for the last three months. You’re my first thought when I wake up and you’re my last thought before I go to sleep.”

Holy shit, this must be a dream. This can’t be real, but if it is, it’s the best fucking dream of my life. “Is this real?” I whisper.

“Is what real, Sunshine?”

“You. This. Now.” I tilt my head into his hand.

“It’s real,” he whispers. “I’ve missed you so much, Calliope.”

“I’ve missed you too but you hurt me.”

“I know I did and I’m so sorry about that. Kissing you was the best thing I have ever done. Pushing you away was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.”

Blinking rapidly, I process his words. He regrets it but still, he’s made no move to indicate he wants more but truth be told, I don’t know what we can do. We stare at one another, his hand still cupping my cheek. The heat from his palm radiates through my body and even though we’re in a public restroom, I want him to kiss me deeply before spinning me around and fucking me from behind. Each of us intently watching one another in the mirror as his dick slides in and out of me. My dirty video is interrupted when he murmurs, “I really want to kiss you, Sunshine.”

“Do it,” I purr. “Kiss me, Mr. H.” Pausing, I cover his hand on my cheek. Leaning into him, I whisper into his ear, “I dare you.”

Pulling back, I raise my eyebrows at him. He reaches his other hand up, grips both my cheeks in his palms, and ever so slowly, our heads start moving toward each other. We’re a hair’s breadth apart when there’s a knock on the door.

Both of us freeze but the person knocks again. “Just a minute,” he growls. Dropping his hands from my face, he pulls away and takes a step back. The moment is broken and I instantly feel the loss. “I need to see you,” he demands and the roughness in his voice soaks my panties further.

“You’re seeing me now,” I joke.

He laughs. “Don’t be a smart-ass, I need to see you. I think, we need to, umm, talk.”

Nodding, I stare at him, biting my lip while I think about what to say. He reaches up and pulls my lip free. “I really want to bite your lip.”

“I’m not okay with that,” I murmur, “and yes, I do think we need to talk, but I don’t want to talk in a public restroom.”

“When then?”

“Tomorrow?”

He nods. “Come by the hotel at ten, and we can chat in private then.”

“Okay.” I nod. It feels like a weight has lifted but we still have so much to discuss. I don’t want to get my hopes up but it’s hard not to. Not after what almost transpired just now, stupid person knocking on the door.

“Okay,” he confirms. Stepping to me, he cups my cheeks again and like before, I tilt my head into it. As quickly as he cups my face, he pulls away and I immediately miss the contact. That is until he leans forward and presses his lips to my forehead.

Closing my eyes, I focus on the connection of his lips on my skin.

All too soon, his lips are gone. He stares at me, I can feel his gaze deep in my soul. “See you tomorrow, Sunshine.” And without another word, he steps around me and exits the restroom. Leaving me alone with my jumbled thoughts.

Flipping the lock behind him, I lean against the wood. Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath and sigh, quietly I mumble, “What the fuck just happened?”

ChapterTwenty

What did I just do?

What the fuck did I just do?

Calliope Fischer causes me to lose my ever-loving mind. I feel like a clueless teenage boy when I’m around her and not the responsible forty-plus-year-old father of three and business owner that I am.

If someone hadn’t knocked on that door, who knows what I would have done to her in that bathroom.
