CALI:PSSSST. I’ll be the one in white

KANE:PSSSST. I’ll be the one with eyes only for you

Reading over Kane’s last message, a goofy smile breaks free. I can’t wait to marry this man. He’s my Prince Charming, no one, and I mean no one, loves me like he does, and now, I get to marry my prince and spend the rest of my life loving him back.

The door flies open and Fern comes bouncing into the room. I notice her lips are puffy like she’s been making out with someone and her cheeks are flushed. She’s been suspiciously absent lately. I think she has a new man in her life … a man who sends her sunflowers on the fifteenth of each month. Her gaze lands on mine and her smile widens. I forget all about her and her mystery man when she sings, “It’s time, Cal, let’s get you hitched.”

ChapterForty-Five

Standing here at the altar, waiting for my bride, I’m nervous as all hell. Normally, my best friend would be by my side as my best man but right now, he’s on father of the bride duty. Instead of Garrick by my side, I have my two sons standing with me today. I could really do with a best friend pep talk from him right now, and as if sensing my inner turmoil, Konrad reaches out and squeezes my shoulder. “Just breathe, dude. You don’t want to pass out before the ceremony.”

Staring at my eldest, I take a breath as he suggests and oddly, it calms me.

“Better?” he asks.

Nodding, I smile. “Much.” My gaze flits to Michael. “Thank you both for standing up here with me today, I really appreciate it.”

“We wouldn’t be anywhere else,” Michael says, then his face turns to stone. “Last chance to run away, Dad. I’ve got a car and like five bucks to my name, but I can get you out of here, just say the word.”

Shaking my head, I laugh at the serious look on my son’s face. “Only place I’m running is down that aisle to meet Calliope.”

“You’re so whipped,” Konrad teases.

“When you meet the one, you’ll be whipped too,” I nonchalantly say with a shrug, and I mean it. I don’t remember being nervous like this on my wedding day to Bitchifer, guess that should have been a sign that it wasn’t right, but I was young and dumb. Now, I’m old and know better.

“Dad, Momma Cali will be here before you know it. Just be patient,” Michael casually says before stepping back into line.

“Momma Cali, really?”

“I thought we said we’d never call her that again?” Konrad complains to his brother, playfully smacking him in the chest. Before we can discuss them calling her ‘Momma Cali’ any further, the wedding music starts.

Turning my attention to the end of the aisle, I smile when I see Fern and Cari coming toward us. They look beautiful but my eyes are locked on the entrance behind them. Waiting for My Sunshine to appear and then, she’s there. She’s beaming and I’ve never seen her look so stunning. I’m not sure what I like best, Calliope in a wedding dress or in nothing but pink lingerie.

Suddenly she’s before me. “You look stunning, Sunshine.”

“Thanks, it’s the shoes.” She sticks her foot out and turns it side to side. The photo didn’t do them justice and now I can’t wait to see what they look like wrapped around my waist, the heels digging into my ass as I pound into my new wife.

The minister clears his throat, and never before have I been happy to be interrupted because I cannot be sporting a hard-on in front of the minister, my best friend—who is also my bride’s father—or our family and friends.

Nodding, I take Calliope’s hand and we face the minister. “Dearly beloved …” and before I know it, he’s announcing us as husband and wife and I get to kiss my bride. Gripping her cheeks in my palms, I press my lips to hers. For a few brief seconds, we just hold our lips against each other’s but then she presses her tongue into my mouth and it’s game over for me. Pushing mine into hers, I slide my hand around to her waist and dip her backward so I can kiss her deeply.

It’s not appropriate for the public but this is our first kiss as husband and wife and I want it to be memorable. Breaking the kiss, I pull her upright and we gaze into each other’s eyes. “I love you, husband.”

“I fucking love you, wife.”

Pulling her into my side, I press a kiss to her temple and I feel her body relax as she wraps her arm around my waist. Sliding my hand into hers, we walk down the aisle as our guests blow bubbles all around us.

This is the happiest day of my life and it’s all thanks to the woman beside me. I wasn’t even this happy when I held the official divorce papers from Bitchifer in my hand. Calliope is my everything and I cannot wait to grow old with her by my side, but first, we’re going to celebrate with our family at the reception before I whisk her away to Hawaii for a two-week, pink-lingerie-filled honeymoon at Luxe, Lanikai Beach in Hawaii.

We have just arrivedat the hotel and are checking in. I’m pissed off and sexually frustrated right now. Calliope and I have been married for almost twenty-four hours and I have yet to fuck her. My dream of stripping her out of her sexy as fuck dress hasn’t come to fruition and I’m being a snarky fuck.

Calliope is looking around the lobby when a commotion breaks out. “… you’re not welcome here anymore,” a man growls.

Calliope turns to face the commotion and her eyes widen in glee. She steps forward to get closer to the action, not caring about being seen. “But—” the woman cries.

“No buts. You are trespassing and you need to leave. The next time you step foot on a Luxe property, I will contact the authorities and have you charged.”
