What the hell is wrong with me?I feel like a schoolgirl that has never been kissed before.My heart feels like it’s going to burst out of my chest, my body seems to have a mind of its own as it responds to this irritating man. But man can he kiss, and not to mention his body, he’s like a sculptured piece of art, and I have always liked art.
I have never had this instant combustive reaction to any man before like I have with Hawk.Wellgirl, you have been living the straight and narrow for way too longsomaybe a little wild will be good for me. I am so dazed that I don’t even hear what Hawk says before he turns to walk into the house, all I can do is stand herewatchinghim walk inside.
“He’s hot, isn’t he?”Myhead snaps around to that voice, I can feel my cheeks flaming at being caught gawking.
“Umm, yes he is but I think he knows it.”Atmy reply she grins as she nods
“They all do, but they are great guys.”Shetakes a step closer to me, “I’m Dakota.”
“Hi Dakota, sorry about that earlier but he seems to have the habit of going around kissing unsuspecting women, I’m Onix.”Myreplyhas herthrowback her head andlaugh.Herwavy auburn hair shining in the sunlight, her amazing green eyes twinkling with laughter.
“Naa,it'susually the women that try to steal a kiss from the guys.”Shesays.WhenI think of the men I have seen here since arriving I can well believe it. “I was told to take you to the cottage, you will love it there.It’sso peaceful and beautiful. Hunter and I spent a few days there just after we got together, and it was amazing.”
“I’m guessing Hunter is your husband?”Atmy question a dreamy smile crosses her face.
“Something like that.”Shechuckles, “well Onix I think you will integrate really well here.”
At her statement I frown, “Hopefully I won’t be here long enough to need to integrate, I just need theMC’shelp to find my sister. I’m on leave from work, if it takes too long, I will have to go back anyway and hope that they can find her.”
“Yeah well, that might change just keep an open mind”
“Open mind for what?”
But Dakota just shrugs saying “You’ll see.”Thisis the strangest bunch of people that I have ever met, it is saying something because in my line of work I have met strangepeople. “Shall we go?” Dakota asks as she inclines her head towards the trees that surround us.
“Can I take the car?”
“I’m afraid not, there is no road leading up to it but don’t worry the guys will bring your stuff up. Is there anything you need for now?”
“Oh, I just have a small traveling bag.I can take it myself.” I walk towards the car, opening the back door I pull out my travelling bag. Closing the door, I then open the driver’s side, leaning in I pull my handbag out, turning the ignition I roll up the windows and then lock the car before I turn back towards Dakota.
“I’m ready,” Dakota smiles as she starts to make her way into the forest, I follow her glad that I had the foresight to wear sneakers. Walking through the forest the smells surround me, the sound of the birds,the only real noise that can be heard except for us. “It’s so nice here.” I murmur as I take in a deep breath, the smell of pines filling my lungs.
Suddenly Iheara howl whichmakemejumpin surprise as it sounded close, “Are there wolves here?” I ask as I look around.
“Yes, but don’t worry about them,they just attack when provoked.” Well damn, like that gives me any reassurance, maybe this is a mistake and I should go stay somewhere in town.
“So, what do you do Onix, you said you have to get back to work?” Dakota asks as we follow a bend in the path and a beautiful wood cottage comes into view, Dakota was right it really is beautiful here.
“I’m a lawyer, sorry not very glamorous.” Dakota looks over her shoulder at me and smiles.
“Well I’m sure the guys will haveaneedforyou especially now with everything going on with the Hades MC.”Ather comment my curiosity gets poked.
“What’s going on with the Hades MC?” I know that they are the Wolverine MC rivals but Dakota made it sound like there is more going on.
“We are at war with the Hades.”Shestops by the cottage door and turns to me as she places her hand on the door handle, “they are an evil bunch, if you ever see one of them make sure to walk the other way.” At my raised brow she frowns, “I’m not joking, they really are bad news. The guys have tried to stop their evilness but every time they turn around there is something else going on.”
“What kind of things?” I ask, I read the information that the PI gave me but maybe Dakota knows more.
“They are heavy into drugs, and also trafficking.”Atthe last my heart lurches, oh no, is it possible that Linda is in more trouble than I even thought?
“They have my sister.” I reveal, only to see Dakota’s expression fill with horror.
“Oh, I’m so sorry I didn’t know but don’t worry because if anyone can find her it will be Hunter and Hawk.” After what she told me it doesn’t give me much comfort knowing that she might be in more trouble than I thought. I will be there every step of the way to make sure that she is found and if she’s not I want to be able to know that I did everything in my power to find her. “Well here we are, you are going to seeit'slovely.”
She opens the door and steps in, the first thing I see when I walk in is the light shining in through the window on the couch that has been placed in front of afireplace, the cottage is open plan, there is a step and then a sprawling bedroom with a huge double bed which from what Dakota hinted at I’m sure her and Hunter enjoyed. I can see a door leading from the bedroom which leads me to believe is the bathroom.
“Would you like some coffee?”Sheasks as she walks towards the kitchenette to the left of where the couch is located.
