“Oh yes please, I would kill for one right now.” I murmur as I place my bag against the couch. “It’s so nice and cosy, I can see why you love it here.”
“Hunter and I sometimes come here when we want to get away from everything for a day.” I see her opening the fridge, look inside and then close it again. “I will get one of the prospects to bring you some groceries, but dinner you will be eating with us once Hawk and you are ready.” I frown at her choice of words but don’t comment.
“So, tell me about the guys and how did you land up here?” I ask as I take a seat on the couch taking my cup from Dakota.
“Hope it’s okay, I forgot to ask and added one sugar and milk.” Dakota says as she takes a seat next to me, actually I don’t take any sugar but I don’t complain as after the day I have had sugar will help me maintain my energy levels up.
“Perfect thanks.” I murmur
“Well let’s see, I had just moved into Town when I met Hunter.I was running away from my Ex and the MC helped me with him.” At her words I tense, what does she mean?
“What exactly did they do to your Ex?”Atmy question she bursts out laughing
“Even though I’m sure Hunter would have liked nothing more than to have ripped histhroatout, he was arrested for murder and kidnapping me.” At her reply I gasp, oh wow he must have been a real tool. “I met Hunter first, and only after a day or two did I meet the others. I’m going to tell you a secret.”Ather statement I sit forward and see her grin. “They might intimidate you sometimes with their gruff ways, especially Frost.” I nod thinking back to Frost’s moodydemeanour.
“Is he always like that?” I ask before she can continue
She smiles, “Yip, I’ve tried to make him smile but he just stares at me, but you know what, under that grumpy personality he has a heart of gold.” By the way she speaks of Frost I can tell that she cares for him.
“Have you met Blue?” I frown
“What is Blue, is that their dog?” Dakota starts to grin which then turns into a chuckle and then becomes a full-blown roar of laughter. Whatever I said tickled her funny bone because her laughter soon has me laughing without even knowing why.
“I’ll be sure to introduce you to Blue.” Dakota says with a mischievous laugh.
“It’s a guy isn’t it?”Byher laughter it’s clear it must be one of the guys.
“No you right he is a dog.”Andthen she is off again laughing, “Oh sorry, that was just funny.”Shestarts to calm, “you have just reminded me of when Hunter introduced me to the guys, what I can tell you Onix is that you couldn’t have found a better group of men to help you.” At her statement I place my hand on her arm.
“Thank you” I say as I squeeze gently before letting go. “They are my last hope, if they can’t find her then I don’t know what else to do. Speaking of that, is there reception here?” I pull my handbag towards me to pull out my phone.
“Only right there in the corner of the bedroom, and it’s not too great, otherwise only by the clubhouse.” Dakota says as she picks up my empty mug and her own taking it to the sink.
“I just need to phone my mom quickly to let her know that they are going to help me, she has been so worried about Linda that I will try not to add to that worry.”
“Oh, don’t mind me.” Dakota says as I lift my phone walking towards the corner she mentioned, I see that she was right.Thereception here is really weak, but it should be okay just to let mom know that I’m fine.
“Nix”
“Yes, mom it’s me, just wanted you to know that they have agreed to help.”
“Oh, thank goodness.” I can barely hear her but at least I have given her some hope.
“Mom the reception here isn’t that great, I might cut out.” I can hear my voice echoing
“Have you fo. . .nd a pla. . . stay”
“Mom, you are cutting out. Everything is fine, I will phone you tomorrow, Love you.” I don’t know if she hears me as I only hear broken words just before I disconnect. “Well that should appease her.” I say as I walk back towards where Dakota is now sitting again on the couch.
“It must be difficult for her; I know when I was on the run, I couldn’t contact my mom and it really took a toll on her not knowing how I was doing.”
“Wellhopefully. . .” I stop talking to look over my shoulder as I hear the door opening, in the doorway I see Hawk, he is now wearing a black t-shirt with the Wolverine MC logo and it is evident that he has had a shower recently as his beautiful longish dark brown hair is slicked back, the way his dark blue eyes are appraising me has goose bumps rising all over my body. I don’t know what it is about this man, but he has me hot just by his presence alone.
“Miss me?”
“Never evengaveyou a thought.” I mutter, I see he brought his ego withhim.
“Liar.”Hesays with a grin
