“Oh look, they are starting.” Approaching the balcony, I take a seat on the chair next to Denise. At least we have the best view in the house. Three other bands play a couple of songs before Blue Strada and his band walk on stage. The minute I see him, it feels like electricity charges everything around me. I don’t know why I have this kind of reaction to this man. There is an animalistic energy surrounding him that calls to me, and going by the screams in the public, it does the same thing to all the other women, too.

The moment he opens his mouth to sing, a chill runs through my body. This man can breathe life into the dead. His voice has a hypnotic tone to it that enthrals and draws you in.

Another knot to tie,

Never just another lie.

Promises begin to fray,

Best intentions turn to grey.

Head in hands on a lonely night,

Empty bottle turns dark to bright.

Walk turns to stumbles,

Steady hands to fumble.

Questions without answers,

Reasons with no meaning.

Closest to reality is dreaming.

I read somewhere that he writes all their songs. The song has a haunted, lonely tune to it. It is hard to believe that the man singing this song can be the same man that hurt my sister. How appearances can be deceiving. At the end of the concert, Denise is so excited that I swear she’s going to stand and start running up and down the corridor. Suddenly, a door opens, and a man walks in. I have seen his photo before, he’s always with the band. If I’m not mistaken, this is their agent.

“Siena Jacobs?” he asks as he walks closer. His eyes roving over my body gives me another creepy chill. Guess the agent is just as bad as those he works for. Not once since he walked in has he acknowledged Denise. What an ass!

“Yes.”

“The band is going to be behind that door in about half an hour. I will get Ashley to come open the door for you.” His eyes finally move to Denise. “Are you excited to see them?” he asks her.

“Oh yes,” Denise replies excitedly.

He nods.

“Good, show it.” With those words, he turns and leaves.

“I don’t like him,” Denise states as she looks up at me with a frown. “Who is he?”

“I think that was their agent, but don’t worry about him, he’s not the one we’re here to see.” I place my hand over my stomach. I couldn’t eat anything today because of my nerves, and now it feels like my stomach is glued to my back. Ashley comes in a few minutes later, looking more frazzled than when I saw her a couple of hours ago. “Please come stand by the door. The band is already talking to the journalists. When I open the door, I start walking towards the band.”

“Is Blue and Jake here?” I know that those are Denise’s favourite band members. Ashley looks at Denise and smiles.

“Yes, they are all here. And you know what? You are going to love them because they are great guys.” I frown, sensing that she genuinely means what she said. A minute later, she’s opening the door. The second it opens; I feel that same static rush through my body as my eyes catch sight of the band. I start pushing the wheelchair forward when my gaze clashes with Blue’s. I feel a friction race up my back. His blue eyes seem to bore right into my soul. Looking down, I lick my suddenly dry lips, my heart racing.

Taking a deep breath, I gather my courage before I once again look up to see him making his way towards us.

Siena, what are you doing?

BLUE 3

No wonder my wolf has been restless. He sensed his mate was close. I take in the woman that is my mate, the woman that is doing everything not to look at me. “Guys, this is Denise.” My eyes move from my mate to the girl sitting in the wheelchair. My heart goes out to this beautiful girl—a girl whose life has thrown her too many obstacles at such a young age.

Jake leans down before her, and I swear the kid’s smile will soon crack her cheeks. “Hello, sweetheart, I’m Jake, but I’m guessing you might know that?”

“Yes, you play the harmonica, violin, and piano.” I see Jake grin at her as he nods.
