“Yeah, it will suit you.” He says, “You always liked to boss everyone around.” His teasing has Fang lift his hand and show him the finger, a grin on his handsome face. Will I ever stop wanting this man with all my being?

The men start to get undressed which has me leaning down to pull off my shoes. Being part of a pack, I am used to the traditions and don’t find this strange, but I had to laugh when the women were talking about their first time at a mating ceremony and faced all the naked men.

Looking around I can see how this would be intimidating for some, all the men are eye-catching, but when my eyes land on Fang I am drawn in. He is sculptured like a God, every muscle, every tattoo that enhances his already glorious body has me taking a step forward when I suddenly realize what I am doing.

His head turns and our eyes catch, no matter what Fang is doing, he always knows where I am and what I’m doing. He makes my heart race with a simple look alone, and I would have it no other way.

“Come stand by us,” Siena says from behind me which has my cheeks flaming when I am caught ogling my mate. “You can have him right after the ceremony.” She whispers loudly with a wink as I come to stand next to her, the others laugh at what she said.

“Let’s start” King orders, immediately silence descends, the crackling of the fire the only sound in the night.

“Fang, a bit late to be asking you this, especially as your woman is already carrying your pup.” King says with a raised brow, “but do you confirm that Mystique is your true mate?”

“I do,” Fang says as he stands before the fire, his body glowing from the flames behind him. His eyes are not leaving mine, not even for a second.

“Mystique, do you agree that Fang is your true mate?” King asks, his voice intense and commanding a response.

“Yes, he’s my true mate.” I reply.

“Do you accept our pack as yours, and maintain our rules?” I know that as the alpha of the pack it is King's right to make sure that anyone that is accepted into the pack is genuine, and that they will not in any way harm anyone.

“I do,” my reply has King nodding before he turns to Fang.

“Kneel Fang” King orders, which has Fang kneeling. King walks behind him, I see Fang’s muscles tense knowing that for a wolf it shows submission and respect for your alpha when you know that he is going to bite you.

As shifters, they instinctively don’t trust anyone at their back, and that is why King as the alpha will go and stand at Fang’s back to assure himself of his respect towards his alpha. King places his hands on Fang’s shoulders as he looks around at everyone.

“Fang is our enforcer; he has placed himself in danger for all of us many times. He is a mated brother, and now a to be father. We will protect his family when he is not able to, we will stand by him like he has always stood by us.” His eyes then rest on me as he continues, “Mystique, mate and mother to be, welcome to the pack.” And then he is lowering his head and biting fang on the side of his neck, Fang maintains his eyes on me but every muscle in his body seems to tense as he growls deep in his throat.

His eyes seem to glow a deep amethyst as he holds still, until King is finished marking him. The veins in his body seem to glow with the same flame as the fire, as the saliva from King’s bite intermingles with Fang’s blood.

“Fang rise,” King says as he comes to stand next to Fang, I can tell by Fang’s tense expression that the bite is more painful than he is letting out. “Mystique,” King calls as he looks at me, “come to your mate.” I immediately make my way to Fang, my hand rising of its own volition towards the bite to try and ease the pain that he must be feeling.

“Mine!” Fang suddenly grunts and then he is sliding his arms around my waist as his lips clash with mine. He kisses me with a possessiveness that has me panting in seconds.

“We are still here,” Goliath states in amusement, but Fang ignores him and continues to kiss me. I don’t know how much time passes when Fang places his hands under my backside and lifts me up against him. “Okay, I’m leaving” I hear Goliath mutter.

“Me too” Dixon says which finally has Fang lift his head and glare at the guys. Lifting my hand I place it on his chest, we both know that the men won’t be going anywhere without us, as they will make sure to protect us from any threat. In one way or another all the men have at one stage in their lives lost the pack they were born into, but they have found a new one, and it is clear that they are a tight one at that.

“Let’s go up, I’m getting hungry.” I murmur as I turn to make my way towards where I left my shoes. “Argh” I gasp as my foot falls on a sharp rock. No sooner have I cried out, when I feel myself being lifted off my feet.

“What’s wrong?” Fang asks as he holds me against his chest as his eyes scan the area.

“It’s fine, just my foot connected with a sharp rock.” I explain, “you guys forget that we don’t see as well as you do in the dark.” Fang grumbles as he walks towards where I have my shoes.

“Are you hurt?” Siena asks from where she’s standing with Blue’s arms around her waist as she waits for us.

“I’m fine,” I appease as Fang lowers me onto the ground next to my shoes. Then he is kneeling as he lifts my foot to look at it. I try to pull my leg away, but his grip tightens until he is assured that my foot is fine.

“Happy?” I ask with raised brows, but instead of answering he simply grunts as he stands to go and collect his clothes.

“Damn bro, put some clothes on, you're starting to blind me.” Dixon quips, which has me smiling at his humour.

“Says the one that takes every opportunity to walk around naked.” Fang replies as he pulls on his jeans. When he slips on his t-shirt, I see him wince as it slides over the bite from King.

It will be tender for a couple of days, because a wolf being bitten by another wolf doesn’t heal as quickly as any other injury. Fang approaches once he’s dressed, his eyes sliding over my body before taking my hand.

We make our way up the path listening to the others bantering with each other. Alaska and Dakota are talking about food, Goliath and Blue are talking about music, and Dixon and Hunter are bantering about their motorcycles.

We are about to walk into the club when Fang’s phone beeps. He takes it out of his back jeans pocket and then stops.

“King” he calls, the others also stop but he inclines his head for them to continue. King approaches his eyes watchful, “Celmund says he has tried to contact you, they think they have a lead, and for me to phone him back.”

King nods, waiting for Fang to make the call. I know that this must be about the killer, something which they have been waiting impatiently for. I just hope that they can find whoever it is once and for all.

“I will go in; let you talk to Celmund.” I say, I know that they will feel the need to curb their tongues if I’m here. Fang leans down to kiss my lips tenderly before letting go of my hand.

“I’ll be right in.” he says.
