FANG 20

“Fang!” Celmund answers.

“You have news?” I ask, hoping that they have something that will lead us to the bastard.

“Yeah, I tried to call King too.” He says,

“Yeah, he’s here, I’m on speaker.”

“Well, there was a change in pattern to the killing on this last one,” his statement has me looking at King, “when I go through the police reports, I see that the area around where the bodies have been found have all been drenched in bleach, the bleach is an industrial make that you can only buy in five litre containers.” His revelation has me frowning, what has this got to do with anything. I see by King’s expression that he’s not seeing the connection either.

“This last site, the bleach was different, it was a lemon smelling bleach that is bought at any convenient store.” He says not continuing.

“I’m not seeing the connection,” I mutter when it’s clear that he is waiting for a reply.

“You are saying that it was a different killing?” King asks.

“No, it was the same killer, but something made the killer deviate from the pattern.” He reveals.

“You think it’s because of it being at the Ray of Hope home, the killer couldn’t carry the five litre drums without being noticed?” I ask to see where he is going with this.

“Yes, and no.” he says, “I looked into your accounts too”

“What?” King snaps, “what for?”

“I was looking for a pattern,” he explains.

“Did you find one?” King asks, a muscle pulsating near his temple, which talks to his irritation.

“Yeah, you guys are buying the five litre drums of bleach every time there is a killing.” His revelation has me tensing and going by King’s deep growl, he is surprised by this turn of events too.

“It might be a coincidence.” I state, but as soon as I say it, I know that it’s not.

“This is the only time that you didn’t buy more bleach.” Celmund states, “Meanwhile, I looked into the Ray of Hope’s purchases, and guess what they purchase?”

“Son of a bitch” King grunts, “It can’t be!”

“You know that it is.” Celmund says.

“It’s impossible for someone her size to carry those bodies.” King states.

“I agree,” Celmund surprises me by saying, “that’s why you need to find out who she is helping.”

I shake my head, trying to get the fact that Sam is being accused of those horrendous murders. Is it possible? I don’t want to believe it, but after everything that happened to her before, I know that it's likely true.

I think we just didn’t want to see it, now that I think about it, everything was pointing towards her. Fuck, but who the hell is she helping that is so twisted that would use a girl like her to help him with his dirty work.

“Thanks, she is here at the club as we brought her home today.” King says. My heart starts to race when I think of what is to come next. All of us felt a responsibility towards Sam because of her kidnapping and rape, to know that no matter what we did, we failed, because she was more broken than we could ever imagine.

“Fuck!” I grunt, handing my phone to King, “I’m going inside,” King nods knowing that I want to go and check what Sam is doing at the moment. Now that we know that she’s part of the killing spree, we need to make sure that she doesn’t hurt anyone when she finds out that we know.

Stepping inside the bar my eyes scan the area, my stomach feels like a knot is constricting it when I see that all the women are sitting with Sam at the far table.

Her expression as always was closed; her eyes downcast, looking the picture of innocence. When Sam came to the club, she was a happy go lucky young woman, her life hadn’t been easy, but she ignored everything and continued doing what was asked of her, and more.

Since the attack we have made sure that she has everything she needs, but to no avail as she still felt the need to somehow excerpt her anger in the most horrendous way. I snap out of my thoughts as a hand lands on my shoulder.

“What’s up bro, today should be a happy day.” Goliath says as he comes to stand next to me. Now that we know that Sam is helping someone with the killings, we can’t trust anyone without first making sure that they are not the killer.
